SANYO is the world's largest producer of optical pickups, which are a key component for optical disk drives, such as Blu-ray Disc recorders, DVD players, and computer CD / DVD drives. The new Indonesian plant is an important production site for SANYO, as part of the company's global production strategy for optical pickups. The facility, whose annual production capacity is currently at 24 million units, will be progressively expanded in the future.
