Buzsák is located on the Southern shores of Lake Balaton. Its embroidery heritage is beautifully diverse. “Vézás” with wonderful rosettas comes in blue-red or black-red. “Rátetes” is made with a cutout delicately stitched onto the base fabric. The third one, “boszorkányos”, meaning witchful is a beautiful colourful embroidery of tulips, roses, flowerbuds and leafs. The colours create a gorgeous colourful embroidery contrast on the fabric.

The folk costumes of Sárköz are some of the richest and most colourful of Hungarian folk heritage. Women’s dresses vary by age. Young women wear red, while over time lively red disappears and we can see deeper colours - dark green, dark red, brown.

Sgraffito, originating in 15th century Italy, is a decorative technique of scratching through a coating on a hard surface to reveal parts of another underlying coating which is in a contrasting colour. Barcelona has beautiful examples of wall finishings created in the 17th century and onwards. Some of my favourite buildings in the city resembling Renaissance frescos.

The Mandarin Oriental in Barcelona is one of my favourite buildings. No, I haven’t stayed here☺️ but I like very much its facade. After the Civil War, the building became the head office of the Banco Hispano Americano, one of the driving forces of the Spanish post-Civil War economy. Since 2010, it is proudly featured by Mandarin Oriental.
