Pirouettes in a stadium, splits above Budapest - we see the traditional Hungari
an ballerinas 'freed from their everyday environment' in a whole new light in Tünde Dóra's Ballerina Project. The Ballerina Project is more than just documentation: it's a nod of respect paid to the most effective essence of human motion, ballet. It is also an undistorted mirror of dancers' ambitions - it's been 14 years since Dane Sh*tagi has decided to immortalize the outstanding talent of oversea ballet dancers in an unconventional series of photographs to reveal the mysterious gracefulness in their movements for all to see. The dancers are taken away from the stage - this time the scenery is our living space, the city milieu, simple everyday life. The redirecting of Sh*tagi’s Ballerina into a more sculptural presence took the attention of not only bloggers community and the international press but that of a young Hungarian photographer, Tünde Dóra who also realized the power within. The setting alongside the Budapest scenery also bypasses the sterilized environment of studios and is replaced by urban, almost surreal locations as well as a metro station or a stadium. Ballerina Project Hungary communicates through its online surfaces on a daily basis and has posted over a hundred well-composed photographs, rewarding one of the most sensitive aspects of Hungarian ballet-culture: getting the passion of dance closer to the people of our streets. Piruett a stadionban, spárga Budapest felett – Tünde Dóra Ballerina Projectjének fotóin eddig soha nem látott oldalukról mutatkoznak be a kőszínházakból egyenest a mindennapokba szabadult magyar balerinák. A Ballerina Project több, mint dokumentáció: főhajtás az emberi mozgás talán leghatásosabb esszenciája, a balett előtt, egyben a táncosi ambíciók torzítatlan tükre – immár 14 éve annak, hogy a New York-i Dane Sh*tagi úgy döntött, rendhagyó fotószériában örökíti meg a tengerentúl legpatinásabb táncintézményeinek balerináit és megpróbálja a világ elé tárni a mozdulataikban rejlő kecses titokzatosságot. A színpadról kiragadott táncosok mögött ezúttal a díszlet mindannyiunk élettere, a városi miliő, a mindennapok kulisszái. Sh*tagi a balerina identitást plasztikusságig csupaszító projektjére pedig nem csak közösségi oldalak népe és a nemzetközi sajtó, de egy fiatal budapesti fotós, Tünde Dóra is felfigyelt. A jelentékeny táncos múlttal rendelkező Tünde képein – az eredeti koncepciót továbbfűzve – a budapesti Operaház és Operett színház táncosai, valamint a Magyar Táncművészeti Főiskola hallgatói tűnnek fel az ikonikus látványosságok, illetve műtermek világán túl a város nyújtotta olyan, gyakran szürrealitásba hajló helyszíneken, mint egy metró állomás vagy stadion. Az online felületein szinte napi rendszerességgel jelentkező Ballerina Project Hungary keretein belül eddig több mint száz, megkomponált fotó látott napvilágot, törlesztve a magyarországi balett-kultúra egyik legfájóbb adósságát: közelebb hozva a tánc passzióját az utca emberéhez.
