Editorial & documentary wedding photographer in Budapest, specializing in intimate weddings and elopements across Europe. As a former magazine editor and psychology student, my approach creates authentic, timeless imagery where couples feel truly seen. Hi, I’m Michaela. I’m a Filipino-British documentary & editorial wedding photographer in Budapest.

I believe your photos should feel like YOU rather than a Pinterest board.

A bit more about me:

- I’ve lived in 6 countries (Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand, Australia, France, and Germany).

- I’m a former luxury magazine photography editor, which means I approach my work with an editorial eye.

- I’m a psychology student working towards licensure in forensic psychology. I’m a forever curious person and education is so valuable to me.

- I married my favourite person and we have a cat called Puzzle, who is both adorable and spoiled and just so lovely.

I photograph weddings in Europe for couples who value authenticity over perfection; who want an intimate or medium-sized wedding that’s heavy on love and light on stress; and who consider themselves a bit of a global citizen too.

If you believe your wedding day should feel like a gathering of your favourite people, and not a production — let’s talk. Drop me a DM or head to the link in my bio.

As the first month of 2026 draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the wedding landscape and how it’s shifting.

I get the sense that 2026 is less about tradition for tradition’s sake and executing a flawless, Pinterest-worthy event but more about cultivating an atmosphere that prioritises depth over scale, authenticity over performance, and giving yourself and your guests an experience that’s both fun, intentional, and focused on connection. And I’m all for it.

So these are some of the things I’m hoping to see less of and those that I’m hoping to see more of in the 2026 wedding season (and beyond). Which one is top of your list?

The moments between the moments are often my favourites. These photos from Ellie and Pierre’s wedding in the south of France are full of genuine, unstaged joy — the kind that happens when you forget the camera is even there.

What’s your favourite type of candid wedding moment?
