Just found out my Fox photo with voles has won a prize in the Mammal Photographer of the Year. It was a national competition so well pleased :-)

Below is a copy of the email I received from them today:-

Dear David,

I am very pleased to announce that our judges have decided that your photo of the fox with voles has been Highly Commended in the Mammal Society's 1st Mammal Photographer of the Year Competition! As such you WIN a copy of our Mammals of the British Isles Handbook. Many congratulations!

We are holding an event to exhibit the winning and highly commended photos on Friday 19th April at Exeter University, 6.30pm - 9pm, on the eve of our 59th Spring Conference, and in conjunction with the annual open Cranbrook Lecture, to be given this year by Dr Pat Morris on '50 years of mammals and The Mammal Society'. There will be a prize giving session (if you can come) and an opportunity to watch Dr Morris' talk. Of course the attendance of our winners affects how this event is organised so please do let me know if you are able to come as soon as possible. It is free to attend.

There will also be a national press release of all winning and highly commended images, so please do let me know if you would rather all press enquiries go through us or if you are OK with us putting you in touch with the occasional press person. We are hoping for national coverage, and within local press as well.

Many congratulations again and if you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to email me.

Kind Regards,
