Barbara Tursan Misic Photography I’m Barbara Tursan Mišić and I'm an international wedding photographer based in Zagreb, Croatia. Hope to meet you soon...

The main reason why I love photography is that I get to witness the good things in life: people in love, people welcoming their first child into the world, people promising their love to each other…I feel indescribable honoured when people rely on me to document special events in their lives. My heart belongs to two cutest, chubbiest babies and to the most amazing man I’ve ever met – my husband. I'm a morning person, a book worm, the biggest coffee lover & a wedding photographer.

Physical planner or virtual planner...which do you prefer?

I plan out my schedule each week in my Hobonichi Weeks (physical planner I use for all private and business-related things) but I also keep track of the weddings I booked in Trello. In that way, I can always access my work schedule - no matter where I am.

I’m curious if a majority of my followers use the same method as I do, so drop your preference in the comments!

Can I bring up something a little controversial?

I want to chat about boundaries. Personal boundaries are guidelines, rules or limits that a person creates to identify reasonable, safe and permissible ways for other people to behave towards them and how they will respond when someone passes those limits. To be honest - at the beginning of my career - I had no boundaries. I would anything my clients asked of me. Even if that did not resonate with my esthetics or the way I edit photos.

But no one can be at their best without putting some real, solid effort into drawing a few lines.

What do you need to say ‘no’ to, to thrive even more? I want to encourage you to do it!

Ever hear the phrase: if you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready? I always stay ready when it comes to the kids—my bag is more packed than Mary Poppins. Water, bandages, reserved clothes, something simple to eat... It's amazing what you can fit into a rucksack.

And when it comes to serving my clients’ needs, I’m sure to respect my deadlines, I try to be the loving friend in the chaos of their wedding day and I will do my best to get them as comfortable as possible in front of my camera.

I love being able to go above and beyond the call of your average wedding photographer to make my clients feel taken care of.
How can I help you today? I’m ready for anything!

We all need options. Coffee: small, medium, or large? Fast food: for here or to go? Restaurant seating: table or booth?

Choices are important because everyone has varying preferences, and my business is no different!
For example, here are a few choices you can make when working with me:

1. Do you need/prefer one photographer or 2? It depends on the size of the wedding (small or big) and your personal preference.
2. Will you print wedding books or not? A printed photo becomes something our future kids can touch and look closely into. It’s displayed, it's on the wall, it's on the desk, it's inside the album. It ties people to places, experiences and emotions.
3. Do you prefer having an engagement session or not? It comes in my package so it's up to my bride & groom will they use that opportunity or not. One of the primary benefits of doing an engagement session is that it will help you get used to being in front of the camera before your wedding.

While there are different options when working with me one thing remains the same: YOU get to decide! Let me know if there’s anything I can do to make your decision easier!

Want a snapshot of my perfect day?

Whether I’m working or taking a day off, I love to start my mornings with cup of coffee, writing down my affirmations and a short meditation. I get a midday boost from English breakfast tea and am sure to workout and before the day is done.

Give me a snap of your perfect day!

Ready for a workout? A BRAIN workout, that is! Grab a pencil and paper because we’re about to do a 5-minute brainstorming session!

Here’s how it works…

First, set a timer for 3 minutes and do a brain dump of any ideas about your profession that come to mind. It could be wedding related (ideas for getting more clients or ideas on how o book smaller, more intimate weddings). Anythign related with your profession.

Second, take a minute and write down any potential roadblocks or questions that need answered based on the ideas you thought of.

For the last minute of your brainstorming session, think of ways you can get more inspiration for your ideas, like reading magazines, scrolling on Pinterest, or reaching out to a peer.

There you have it! In five minutes flat, you were able to get a brain workout! Wasn’t that fun?

Care to share any ideas you thought of in the comments? I’d love to hear them!

Can I get sappy for a second?

When I’m old and grey and when I'll be looking back on my life in 40 years, I don’t want to think about what could’ve, should’ve, or would’ve been. I want to reflect on the “good ol’ days” without regret, knowing I did what made me happy. Being a wedding photographer has given me the opportunity to provide an income for my family while also raising my kidsand for that, I’m happy. I’m no fortune teller, but I think my future self will be pretty pleased, too!

Drop a YESSSS in the comments below if you’re living your best life now so your future self will be proud!

Using ONLY emojis, comment below with what your ideal portrait session would feel like. Not only is it a pretty fun game, but it will help me serve you better! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Ready… go!

What are you planning for the weekend?

If the weather’s good, I’m hoping to take the kids out sledding. But before I head out for the weekend, I ought to point out that I'm working on updating my website. That also includes three new blog posts so stay tuned!

Tell me: what are you up to this weekend?

What’s your soundtrack today? Traditionally, I love indie rock, specifically Florence and the Machine and Arctic Monkeys.

But recently, I’ve been listening to a lot of Jessie Ware and I’m obsessed with Spotligh. I could have it on repeat all day and not get sick of it!

No matter what it is, I love listening to music when I edit galleries for my clients. It just relaxes me.

So how about you: what’s your soundtrack these days? Bonus points if you name specific artists and songs… I’m looking for new tunes to jam out to!
