Sigma is sponsoring KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival 2026 and its satellite event, KG+2026. Both events will be held at various locations in Kyoto, Japan from April 18 to May 17, 2026.

As part of our sponsorship, we will present solo exhibitions by Daido Moriyama and Federico Estol, as well as the KG+ SELECT 2026 finalists’ exhibition. We are also bringing back the Sigma Pop-Up Space, “Sigma Lounge,” with a Photobook Library where visitors can browse our growing archive of Japanese and international photobooks, as well as experience and purchase Sigma products in the Sanjo-muromachi area.

This marks our 9th year of contributing to the diverse and exciting program of KYOTOGRAPHIE and KG+, and we hope that visitors will be inspired by the many works shown throughout the festival.

The “Red Dot: Best of the Best” is the highest distinction in the competition, reserved exclusively for the most outstanding products in each category as a testament to pioneering design and exceptional quality. Following a rigorous evaluation by the international jury, the Sigma BF achieved a perfect score of 100 points, a prestigious recognition of its unparalleled excellence.
This marks the third “Red Dot: Best of the Best” received for Sigma’s digital camera products, following the Sigma sd Quattro and the Sigma fp.

We will continue our pursuit of the highest image quality and remain dedicated to developing photographic equipment that prioritizes fundamental performance and brings true value to our customers.

Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art has won TIPA World Awards 2026 BEST FULL FRAME WIDE ANGLE PRIME LENS

Citation: Today’s trend in lenses coincide with what’s happening in modern camera design, meaning smaller, lighter, and more responsive products that bring advantages to both still and video capture. This fast wide angle, full frame lens comes in with a 30% reduction in weight and 20% in length than previous manifestations. It also features a linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) that provides faster, quieter autofocus and significantly suppresses focus breathing, making it more suitable for video work than its predecessors, as does its “de-click” option for aperture changes. An 11-rounded diaphragm is especially designed to deliver smooth bokeh for even more creative image interpretations.

Citation: Housed within a sturdy magnesium alloy body, this high-performance telephoto lens is aimed squarely at pro sports, portrait, nature, and low-light photographers. AF tracking is precise, rapid, and near-silent, with an amazing 6.5 stops* of image stabilization in two OS modes, Mode 1 for general and Mode 2 for panning. Addressing often less than favorable shooting conditions encountered in the field, it incorporates coatings that correct and suppress flare, ghosting, and even strong backlight. An added feature is an Arca-Swiss compatible tripod socket that doubles as a carrying handle, making for quick and easy transition from stationary to action capture.
