📍 Elogio del Horizonte — Gijón, Spain

Standing above the Atlantic on the cliffs of Santa Catalina Hill, Elogio del Horizonte was designed by sculptor Eduardo Chillida as a structure meant to interact with wind, sound, and open space. From above, its massive concrete form appears both heavy and completely open to the horizon beyond it.

Seen from the air, the sculpture becomes part of the coastline itself — framed by the ocean, cliffs, and the endless movement of the sea below. The perspective reveals not only the monument, but the scale of the landscape surrounding it.

A place where architecture is less about walls… and more about the feeling of space.

🌊 This isn't a river. And it isn't quite a beach either.

Welcome to Playa de Guadamía, one of Spain's most unique coastal landscapes. At high tide, seawater rushes through this narrow canyon and transforms the area into a hidden inlet connected directly to the sea. At low tide, it reveals a peaceful beach tucked between dramatic limestone cliffs.

From above, the winding channel creates a natural leading line that seems to pull your gaze straight toward the horizon—a dream scene for photographers and nature lovers alike.

📍 Playa de Guadamía, Asturija

Iz zraka se najbolje vidi kako se krajolik ovdje neprestano mijenja. Pješčani dio plaže u prvom planu postupno ustupa mjesto stijenama i otvorenom moru, stvarajući prirodan prijelaz između kopna i Atlantika.

Oblik obale nije rezultat ljudskog planiranja, nego dugotrajnog djelovanja valova, vjetra i vremena. Upravo zato svaki pogled otkriva drukčiji odnos između pijeska, stijena i vode.

S ove perspektive Playa de Guadamía nije samo plaža, već dio mnogo šire priče koju ispisuje obala sjeverne Španjolske.

Pogled koji podsjeća koliko priroda može biti jednostavna, a istovremeno iznimno složena.

Flying just above the water changes the scale of everything.

At high speed, the shoreline of Playa de San Antolín becomes a continuous flow of waves, sand, and motion — the Atlantic rushing past only meters below the drone. What feels calm from the beach turns dynamic from this perspective, especially when every movement follows the shape of the coastline.

📍 Gaztelugatxe — Basque Country, Spain

From the top of Gaztelugatxe, the scale of the landscape changes completely. The stone staircase winding below becomes the central line of the scene, descending toward the narrow bridge that connects the island to the rugged Basque coastline beyond.

Seen from above, the path feels almost suspended between land and ocean — carved into the cliffs, surrounded by waves, and shaped by centuries of wind and salt air. What seems demanding from the ground turns into pure geometry from the air.

A place where the journey upward becomes just as memorable as the view itself. #
