Finally got a decent portrait of the double-crested cormorant. They swarm Toronto in the Spring but this was taking down in Florida mid-January.

The Rufous-Tailed hummingbird native to Central America. This one was in Honduras of course! Still more photos to come of the trip but I thought this was a decent shot of a fast moving/small bird blending into the bush.

A pair of Blue-Crowned Motmots up early in morning. This photo is the best I took of them but doesn’t do them justice. They are so unique and I cannot wait to go back to take some more photos.

A small American/Cozumel Crocodile checking on me to make sure I was still paying attention while exploring a flooded area in Punta Sur, Cozumel, Mexico 🇲🇽

I was well aware of the presence of Crocs in the area, but what I didn’t know is that a study would be released soon after taking these photos that argued the Crocodiles on Cozumel have branched off from the American Crocodile and are their own species!

3 of my favourite wallpapers that I snapped while touring Lake Yajoa, between the Cortés and Santa Bárbara Departments of Honduras 🇭🇳

There is really nothing like waking up before the sun in another country with the simple goal of exploring. After a quick stop at my guide’s house for some coffee, we set off in a leaky little row boat to see what we could find!

It’s almost this season once again! ❄️🦉

I hope to see this owl again (and hopefully get a better picture!) but the unfortunate reality is that many snowy owls that have passed through Toronto in the previous years have succumbed to the avian flu. I can only hope this one made it through 🤍

Back in New Brunswick, where the white tailed deer rule! With all their natural predators in the area eliminated, this is essentially deer haven. This mother, accompanied by two fouls, was unbothered by my presence. She simply kept one eye on me while letting me take all the photos I wanted!

At first, I thought I was taking a photo of a hummingbird. It’s wings were flapping incredibly fast and it was about the right size. I looked at the picture after and realized what it was. A rare hummingbird clear-wing moth!
