DWI Digital Cameras Do NOT BUY

Six years ago today.
Sweet justice against the crooks at DWI, and my money fully refunded.
Don't buy online without going through PayPal, for that extra insurance.
And frankly - don't buy any electrical goods overseas without guaranteed manufacturer's warranty - which is extremely rare.
I've had two online purchases go pearshaped, and both full refunded by PayPal.

"Don't buy from them they don't respect any warranty and trading laws. I did buy a iPad Air 2 128 GB for £445.00. Faulty. They say they don't accept any returns of faulty or damaged products, neither a refund. This it is illegal."

It wasn't surprising really then to get the following email from DWI recently:

This was followed by a phone call urging me to consider their offer. The management really has changed - it's all new, they said. Have the owners changed? I asked. No was the answer.

So the same people who allowed the appalling treatment of so many thousands of people are still there.

Are you going to make good with everyone your business harmed, I asked? We are talking to some people, like this, they said. So that's another no. They are only interested is getting the bad reviews taken down. If you were wronged by them but did not take to the internet to let people know, tough.

And have they really changed? Didn't take much searching online to find many more of the same sorts of review posts by people having the same problems, getting the same shoddy treatment. Amid stacks of positive reviews all by single review authors and following strangely similar patterns. For example:

It would take a lot more than a lousy $100 store credit to offset the many hours of time, the stress and more that resulted from DWI's treatment of me. And I'm just one person among many.

So I'll think I'll be declining their kind offer...

This was a reply to a post by another person who's been ripped off by this mob. Reposting here for better exposure:

It's always the way with this company. If they have it in stock, quick delivery, and you think they are great. Any other variable or failure, and you are in deep trouble and wondering what on earth you were thinking trusting this off-shore bunch of liars and thieves.

You say to yourself: "why didn't I do a search online *before* making the purchase? Because now I find these horrible reports are *everywhere*. I'm an idiot and I will never buy a thing anymore without search independent reviews."

But it's not your fault that you trust businesses to act with repute. It's just that these people are virtually unreachable in Hong Kong and they rely on the sheer weight of new business to offset their bad reputation.

Plus they set up multiple parallel organisations as well, so if one does crumble, they can simply switch focus to one of the others.

The main thing you can do is tell people. Lots of people. Get on camera forums and tell people. On tech forums, on every review site you can find. They are spamming review sites with glowing reports so you have to try to outweigh them. Plus you need to call out the review sites for not cracking down on the spam reviews.

That's your mission.

It seems many people are being burnt badly by scam websites. That's not to say that this mob DWI don't actually deliver some products, unlike these scammers. DWI just shaft you at the other end of the transaction!

I have not had time to check, but I think scammer is using a pre-paid credit card (pay as you go - load and go) to receive the money.

So many people being ripped off by this mob of shysters...
Please make sure you like this page so that it qualifies for Facebook Insights, Then I can send DWI stats about how many people are visiting the page and finding out how crook they are.
Already emailing them about the more than 1000 people who've viewed my blog post about it all.
Feels good to taunt them.

Protip DWI: if you are going to try to escape your totally crap reputation and hide under another name, just carrying on the same crap behaviour is kind of a giveaway...

Look Scott: if you give us money, it's ours OK? Man up and don't be giving us none of this "I want what I paid for" whiney rubbish. Stupid Paypal and their dumb claims process. Just getting in the way of decent businesses trying to get ahead.

One more complaint like this and we're blocking you, and autodeleting your emails too. And you can forget about using the phones. We fixed that little time-waster ages ago!

What? You're phone doesn't connect to Telstra 4G? Well that's Telstra's fault not ours. It's compatible with Telstra - see it says so right here on our website.
It's not our fault you can't enter settings properly, and neither can Telstra, or the manufacturer.

Great phones. Just no good if you want to connect to Telstra.
