Germain's Peacock Pheasant
眼斑孔雀雉

Endemic to the lowland forests of southern Indochina, the Germain's Peacock Pheasant is threatened by rapid habitat loss due to agricultural expansion and poaching. Being quiet impatient, I'm never really a huge fan of birdwatching from inside bird hides, but this pair was quite special since it was my first time seeing any peacock-pheasant. They really are quite spectacular!

眼斑孔雀雉係中南半島南部低地森林嘅特有種，正面臨因農業擴張同盜獵引致嘅急速棲息地喪失威脅。識我嘅人都知我冇乜耐性，所以唔係太有心機係入面坐低等雀。但呢對真係好特別，事關呢個係我第一次親眼見到孔雀雉，又真係幾靚！

Tree Swallow family on the island (English below)
小島上嘅雙色雨燕家庭

幾年前喺美國嘅海島上工作嗰陣，記得住嘅營地隔離有一個巢箱。當時一齊工作嘅夥伴同我講，依個箱每年都會有一對雙色雨燕返嚟繁殖，我去嘅時侯亦唔例外。由一開始到埠嗰陣睇住父母日日出入巢箱，到慢慢幾隻幼鳥開始離開巢箱，喺我營地隔籬嘅植被附近活動，依個係我喺海島工作嘅其中一個有趣回憶。

A few years ago while working on an island in the US, I remember there was a nest box right next to the tent where I stayed. My colleague told me that a pair of Tree Swallows would come back to breed in this box every year, and my time there was no exception. From watching the parents flying in and out of the nest box every day when I first arrived, to gradually seeing several fledglings leave the nest and hang around the vegetation near my camp right before my departure—it's one of the fondest memories from my time working on the island.

橫斑翠鳥 Banded Kingfisher (English below)

可能係我見過最型嘅翠鳥，依對橫班翠鳥喺我第一次去觀鳥旅行嘅時候見嘅，當時睇佢哋又捉蜥蜴又捉蠍子，真係幾正！

One of the coolest kingfishers I’ve seen! On my first real birding trip to Thailand, I watched a pair bringing back various prey, including a scorpion. It doesn’t get much better than this!

Also it was my last trip with z6ii, not missing it at all lol
