In 2020 I borrowed a camera to see if it could work for me. No plan, just followed my nose. There was a noise up the street towards trafalgar Sq so I went to have a look. It was a march by the Nationals. It seemed a bit low key but the marchers were tough looking blokes so I tagged along. The images were all very predictable and I struggled to see what I could do with the material. Then they stopped and I knew I had to get closer. This image was what I came up with. Sadly this is now all too familiar.

Gutted shops for rent. The system in HK is simple. You rent , create a business and hopefully do well buuut if you do well the landlord will request your accounts and charge you higher rent. This means all your favorite places can no longer sustain the burden and close. The shop legally must then be gutted and someone sits in the empty space until the process restarts. I have tried over the years to figure out if this is worth exploring photographically. Anyhoo here is one of those.
