Su Chang and his studio, Su Chang Design Research Office, have created a striking pavilion for community events, Re: Tai Kok Tsui, at the Olympian City plaza in Tai Kok Tsui.
Sponsored by the Urban Renewal Fund and organized by the Hong Kong Arts Centre, this 30-month project engages local residents to envision a revitalized culture in the area.
The pavilion, is constructed from galvanised steel and bamboo, is designed to blend harmoniously with the palm trees surrounding it. Its fluid, wave-like form symbolizes the unique spatial quality of Tai Kok Tsui, emphasizing the connection between land and sea while providing a welcoming space for the community to gather and socialize.
