European Photography Awards 

‘Hong Kong From Above’ is an aerial series transforming one of the world’s most vertical territories into a canvas of striking geometries and hidden patterns.
Moving past traditional street-level chaos, a bird’s-eye perspective strips away the familiarity of the city’s skyline. From the tightly packed residential blocks of Kowloon to the corporate monoliths of Central, these images explore hypnotic symmetry, repetitive grids, and vibrant colour gradients.
Rooted in his background in architectural design, Ainsworth’s series captures a fascinating duality: the immense scale of human engineering juxtaposed with how life organises itself within rigid boundaries. It challenges your perception of spatial design, showcasing a familiar metropolis from an entirely new vantage point.
