Being invited to photograph a family in those early days is something I’ll never take for granted.

You’re letting me into a chapter that feels enormous while you’re living it, but somehow it’s over before you’ve had a chance to properly take it all in. The tiny hands, the sleepy cuddles, the way everyone is still finding their feet together, and all those ordinary little moments happening around the edges.

Years from now, these photos will be more than beautiful pictures of your family. They’ll be a way back to what life looked and felt like when this particular chapter was just beginning.

What a privilege it is to get to preserve a little piece of it for you 💛

I think we spend so much time trying to make life better that we forget to notice how much of it already is.

The ordinary mornings.
The people we get to come home to.
The conversations that make us laugh.
The work we once hoped we’d have.
The little hands that won’t always be little.
The trips, the dinners, the walks, the coffee, the chaos. 🤭

So much of what feels completely normal today was once something we hoped for.

And yes, keep dreaming. Keep building. Keep wanting more for yourself and your life.

But every now and then, look around.

You might already be standing in the middle of some of the days you’ll miss the most.

Maybe a good life isn’t only something we’re creating.

Maybe it’s something we need to get better at noticing. 🩷

“How do you manage it all?”
Excellent question. 😂

Currently with a combination of:
☕️ coffee
📅 a calendar I obey like it’s legally binding
👯‍♀️ an incredible team
📝 approximately 47 lists
🏃‍♀️ moving at a speed that suggests I’m permanently late
🧠 occasionally walking into a room and forgetting why
…and carrying enough bags to suggest I’ve left home permanently.

This has officially been the busiest season JLP has EVER had.

More schools. Bigger opportunities. More decisions. More moving parts. More growth than I think any of us quite expected.

But it’s exciting. It’s slightly chaotic. It’s something we’ve worked towards for YEARS.

So when people ask how I’m managing it all… Some days, extremely well.
Some days, with three bags, a coffee and absolutely no idea where I left my phone.

Both count. 😂🩷

14 schools. Roughly 10,000 students. Two months 🤯

August and September are officially HUGE for JLP.

When I think back to where this business started, the idea that we’d one day be trusted to photograph around 10,000 children in a matter of weeks is completely bonkers – in the very best way.

There are a lot of early mornings, full memory cards, silly jokes, and very busy days ahead, and I genuinely cannot wait.

Hong Kong schools, we’re coming for you 📸

I still have moments where I look around and think, how lucky am I that this is actually my job?

I’ve always loved photography, but school photography has carved out a particularly special place in my heart.

It’s busy, it’s fast-paced, and most days I go home absolutely exhausted, but I genuinely love it.

Getting to build a career around photography was the dream. Getting to do it with children, schools, and a team I adore has turned out to be even better than I imagined 💛📸

There’s a part of almost every big thing I’ve ever done where I’ve thought:

Maybe this isn’t working.
Maybe I’m not ready.
Maybe I should change direction.
Maybe this is as far as it goes.

And so often, that part came right before something changed.

The yes.
The opportunity.
The breakthrough.
The moment all those tiny things I’d been doing quietly started to add up.

We see people’s results and rarely see how long they spent in the bit where nothing seemed to be happening.

So if you’re there right now, keep going.

Keep learning. Keep showing up. Keep doing the small things that nobody is applauding yet.

You might not be doing it wrong.

You might just be in the part of the story where most people quit.

And imagine what could be waiting for you if you don’t. 🩷

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to book the family shoot…

Hi. Hello. This is your sign 👋📸

The kids aren’t getting any smaller, so, shall we just do it?

Meet Bridget, our Master of Multitasking & Main Events ✨

Every team needs someone who brings energy, creativity and a little bit of fun to everything they do. Bridget is definitely one of ours.

A former event planner, Bridget has a natural talent for keeping things organised, making things happen and treating even the smallest occasion like it deserves a little extra attention (and, ideally, an optional after-party!).

After 12 years living in Hong Kong, she's also become a pro at navigating busy schedules, different time zones and long-distance friendships — all while being a mum to three and somehow making multitasking look easy.

A few fun facts about Bridget:

✨ Mum to three
✨ Former event planner
✨ Can craft just about anything with a glue gun and some glitter
✨ Her purse contains everything from snacks and water bottles to a full craft kit
✨ Certified sunset chaser 🌅
✨ Can carry four grocery bags, a backpack AND a sleeping six-year-old at once
✨ Easily distracted by a good beat
✨ Has absolutely zero self-control when there's a dance floor nearby 💃

Bridget brings enthusiasm, creativity and plenty of personality to the team — and we're so lucky to have her!

Come spend a day running a school photography business with me. 📸☕️

4:23am start. Movement first. Coffee always. School chaos. Thousands of tiny details. Team check-ins. Gym. Sauna. More coffee. And an unreasonable amount of admin. 😂

I’ve learned that the days I love most aren’t necessarily the most exciting ones.

They’re a mix of doing work I genuinely care about, looking after myself, working alongside brilliant people, solving approximately 47 unexpected problems... and answering emails I’d quite happily never see again.

The fun bits. The boring bits. The big moments. The tiny routines.
It’s all part of building something I love.

Welcome to my first day-in-the-life vlog. 🩷

Your camera roll is less of a photo album and more of a digital junk drawer.

There are recipes you'll never cook, memes that stopped being funny in 2021, and approximately 37 accidental photos of the inside of your pocket.

The best photos deserve a better home than "Recents".

Turn your favourite moments into magnets that live on your fridge, not hidden between screenshots, shopping lists, and that photo you took of where you parked.
