A quiet afternoon at Kyoto Garden, turning into something they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.

Arangan had one question to ask. Joanne had no idea what was coming.

Between the greenery, the waterfall, a few nervous smiles and one very easy yes — their casual walk through the garden became the beginning of a new chapter.

Congratulations, Arangan & Joanne. 🤍

More locations don’t always mean more photographs.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is stay a little longer — to understand the light, notice what’s happening around us, and give the day enough space to unfold naturally.

A destination shoot shouldn’t feel like a checklist of landmarks. I’d rather explore one place properly than rush through five just to say we’ve been there.

Some of my favourite photographs have come from the parts we never planned: a quiet street, a sudden change of light, an extra ten minutes somewhere that simply felt right.

So when we plan a shoot, the question isn’t always “How many places can we fit in?”

It’s “How much can we create here?”

Slow down. Experience the place. Enjoy the day together.

The photographs will follow.

Vinci & Sam’s wedding is one I remember particularly fondly.

Partly because it was the last wedding I photographed in Hong Kong in 2025, but more because of how much thought Vinci put into making the day truly their own.

Hong Kong weddings can often feel like a race from morning till night — and ironically, the two people who sometimes get to experience the least of it are the bride and groom themselves.

Vinci & Sam did things a little differently.

They chose a rare half-day celebration, leaving the morning slow and unhurried. We had time to photograph Vinci on her own, moments with her bridesmaids, and portraits of the two of them — not squeezed into a ten-minute gap, but with enough space to actually create and enjoy the process.

I’m also grateful for how much they trusted me, patiently listening to and embracing some of my ideas along the way. There’s something genuinely rewarding about creating with a bride who shares a similar sense of taste and aesthetics.

The result felt very much like them — thoughtful, elegant, joyful, and never rushed.

Not just a wedding, but a day of their own.

Some weddings just carry an energy that stays with you and Cicily & Jonathan’s was definitely one of them!🔥

Cicily brought such a bright, playful energy to the whole day — always laughing, always completely herself. Jonathan is a little more reserved, but so warm and easy to be around. I loved seeing how naturally their two personalities balanced each other.

And a special mention to the bridesmaids, who brought so much energy to the day and were there helping with everything, big and small. You could really feel how loved these two are.

Such a joyful summer day at Wotton House, and I’m very glad I got to be part of it. 🤍

I don’t think destination photography always has to mean going to the most iconic spots.

Sometimes, the more popular a location becomes, the more predictable the photographs can feel — the same viewpoint, the same angle, the same frame.

I’m often more drawn to the quieter places. A hidden mountain pass, an empty field, a road we happen to find along the way. Places that give us more freedom to explore, observe, and create something that feels personal to you.

And you don’t need to tick every famous location off the list. A pre-wedding shoot shouldn’t feel like a checklist of places you need to prove you’ve been to.

That’s why I always recommend making the shoot part of your trip, rather than travelling somewhere only for the photos. Stay a little longer, explore, and enjoy the destination without the camera too. If there’s somewhere we don’t manage to photograph, you can always visit it another day — sometimes it’s even better to experience a place without thinking about the photos.

K & G in these photos are a perfect example. We originally planned to shoot at Tre Cime, but something unexpected happened and we couldn’t make it there. Instead, we went to this spot I’d wanted to visit for a long time, but had never had the chance to explore.

And somehow, that change of plan gave us some of my favourite photographs from the trip.

Sometimes, the places we didn’t plan for become part of the story too.

More from K & G’s Dolomites journey soon. 🤍

One thing I hear from so many couples is that they feel a little unsure about being in front of the camera.

But honestly, you don’t really need to know how to pose. A little direction here and there, and then we just let things happen.

A random laugh, a quick glance, the little moments in between. Somehow, those always end up being my favourite photos.

Lake Como is not a place to rush.

Kelly & Keith rented this beautiful villa by the lake, and when we saw the light falling through their room that afternoon, we knew we had to stay a little longer. So instead of chasing the next location, we simply slowed down and let the light do its thing.

I think that’s the one thing to remember when photographing Lake Como — take your time.

There are details everywhere. In the old villas, the reflections on the lake, the curtains moving by the windows, and somehow, even the air feels different here.

You don’t need to create too much. Sometimes you just need to notice what is already there.

Thank you K & K for letting me photograph such an elegant and peaceful day. I loved shooting with you both — calm, effortless, and completely present in the moment.

Exactly how Lake Como should be experienced. 🤍

There’s still so much more from this series to share — stay tuned.

Hitomi & Dennis, on a summer day at Hartsfield Manor — blue skies, garden vows, and all the people they love gathered in one place.

There was something so effortless about this day. The little glances during the ceremony, hands reaching for each other, laughter in between, and sunlight following them everywhere.

A celebration that felt warm, intimate, and completely their own.

Congratulations, H & D. 🤍

Less is more.

The older I get, the more I find myself drawn to simplicity.

If there were only one theme that truly belongs to Paris, I’d call it tranquility. Clean lines. Quiet corners. Endless symmetry. Nothing shouting for attention—yet everything feels timeless.

Sometimes the most powerful photographs aren’t the ones with the most happening in the frame. They’re the ones that leave room for you to feel.
