Silvermine Waterfalls
Divided into the upper falls and lower falls, Silvermine Waterfalls is one of the signature scenes in Mui Wo. Next to the waterfall is the Silver Mine Bay Waterfall Garden. There is a Chinese style pavilion in the garden where tourists can enjoy a spectacular view of the waterfall.
๐ Pearl Waterfalls (็็ ็) is a stunning, multi-tiered cascading waterfall and hidden gem in Mui Wo, Lantau Island. Located along the Hong Kong Olympic Trail, it features refreshing natural swimming pools and a larger drop than the nearby Silvermine Waterfall.
How to get there:Route: Take the ferry from Central Pier 6 to Mui Wo (approx. 30โ40 mins). From the pier, follow the paved Olympic Trail past Silvermine Bay and Silvermine Cave.
The Hike: The 2.9 km walk to the falls takes about 45-60 minutes. Just past Silvermine Cave, look for an unmarked dirt trail to your left near an electric pole, which leads directly to the waterfall.
Tips: Visit during the summer rainy season for the most impressive water flow. The final approach involves a short, slippery dirt trail, so wear sturdy, comfortable shoes.
