Between Mountains and Memories was made in Sinai, where two worlds exist in the same frame: concrete and mountains, cars and horses, modern life and traditions that have survived far longer than the roads beneath them.

I didn’t want to romanticise one or criticise the other. I wanted to photograph the tension between them.

A world changing, without completely letting go of what came before.

We often speak of nature as something separate from us, something we visit, admire, photograph. But here, there is no separation. There is only an ancient exchange between human hands and the sea — one that has been repeated for generations.
