Where gods once walked 🇬🇷

For nearly 2500 years, the Acropolis has watched over Athens through empires, wars, earthquakes and restoration. Every generation has left its mark, yet it remains one of the most recognisable symbols of the ancient world.

Standing among these temples, it’s easy to forget they were never intended as ruins. The Parthenon was built to honour Athena, while the Erechtheion, with its famous Caryatids, stood on ground the Athenians believed was sacred long before the city’s Golden Age.

What surprised me most wasn’t the scale, but the quiet. Even surrounded by visitors, there were moments where the marble, olive trees and winter light made it feel timeless.

Standing at the centre of the world 🌍

According to Greek mythology, Zeus released two eagles from opposite ends of the world and instructed them to fly towards one another. They met at Delphi, which the ancient Greeks regarded as the ‘omphalos’, the centre of the world.

The Temple of Apollo wasn’t built here by chance. Perched on the slopes of Mount Parnassus and overlooking the Pleistos Valley, Delphi occupied a dramatic natural setting that inspired awe long before the sanctuary was constructed. Geography, religion and politics all came together in one place.

Delphi was one of the highlights of my trip to Greece. Even today, it has an atmosphere that’s difficult to describe. Despite the silence and isolation, you can’t help but feel that something significant happened here.

One of the things I love most about film is that it doesn’t always do what you expect. This roll came back looking nothing like I’d imagined. Maybe it was the heat, maybe something else.

My first thought was that I’d lost the photographs and that everything was ruined. Now I keep coming back to them. There’s something beautiful about the imperfections. In a world where everything online is polished and perfect, I quite like that these aren’t.

Happy to share that my work will be exhibited at Arrival Gallery as part of their upcoming curated group exhibition in London from 8–10 May 2026.

I’ll be presenting Solitude Against the Horizon, photographed in the Algerian Sahara in 2024.

The work sits within my ongoing exploration of scale, landscape, and the relationship between the individual and their environment.

Grateful to be included alongside artists from around the world.
