When I had nothing
They said I lacked
And when I had it eventually
They said it was luck They believed in fate
Whiles I gave myself to faith Now I won
And yet they said I was lucky.
Comfort became bitter
Sleeping in the night seemed like loosing out on gathering gold dust so l befriended the cold nights And worked in the nights
Whiles they popped in the nite.
I won And yet they said I was lucky
Each moment seemed like too much to compromise
So I became stingy with time
Today I saved a little And I thought I should get sweets
But then I realized I’m going to do it once And if I endured a little longer I could get it always So I said no to sweets
As I made more sweats. Now I could get sweets any time And yet they said I was lucky.
I fought lions
When they left me all alone
I conquered mountains
When they said it will never move And I leveled valleys
As I walked through the shadows of death
There, made me, These tough times made me great And yet they said I was lucky.
