Jake Lang during a pro-ICE protest in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on July 25, 2026.
Lang participated in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, where he fought at the police line, striking officers with a baseball bat and riot shield for hours. He was arrested afterward and spent approximately four years in federal custody awaiting trial. He faced an 11-count federal indictment, but his case never reached trial. President Donald Trump pardoned Lang in January 2025, securing his release.
Since his release, Lang has organized a series of confrontational anti-Islam demonstrations around the country as part of what he describes as a “Christian Crusade.”
The demonstrations have repeatedly resulted in violence. In Minneapolis, Lang was attacked and chased by counterprotesters. Lang said he was stabbed during the confrontation, with his body armor stopping the blade.
In March, at a demonstration he organized outside Gracie Mansion in New York City, an improvised explosive device (na!l b*mb) was thrown toward the protest. Federal authorities later charged two men in connection with the attack. Authorities said the men were inspired by !S!S, and prosecutors said one pledged allegiance to !S!S. The device, which contained TATP explosive and screws and bolts as shrapnel, failed to detonate.
Earlier this week, Lang brought his “Christian Crusader March” to Dearborn, Michigan, where hundreds of demonstrators and counterprotesters gathered. Lang was stoned during confrontations surrounding the Dearborn demonstrations, and police ultimately made 22 arrests.
Lang is continuing the campaign with another demonstration planned for this weekend and additional events expected in the coming weeks.
