I don't know why I did not call this page “film photography” - well, maybe I imagined it would be more than that when things began. But you know, I learned to draw in my father’s life-drawing classes way before I ever picked up a camera. When I had the blind luck of getting to study with Jan Groover in my time at SUNY Purchase, she forced us to draw the picture in a notebook before we clicked the shutter. So maybe this is a sleeper drawing page that just happens to have my pictures on it. Maybe I will pick up a stump of charcoal again, knead an eraser and dive back into that magnificent ocean of the empty page.
I have nothing against digital cameras, I just find zero interest in using them. As most film people will tell you, the obstacle, the challenge, the manual camera with zero auto-functions is not a handicap. Oh no, it brings the very best out of you. That is what I try to share here.
