Even a typhoon over China and a missed connection on my way back from Oz couldn’t keep me away from Becky and Charlie’s wedding. There was far too much fun to be had and the universe 100% delivered 🙌🏼🥳😍🎉

What a brilliant day, and what a joy to see two so absolutely in love, absolutely perfect for one another couples find each other! (And all made extra special for me because in amongst the guests were two couples who’s weddings I’d shot a few years ago- and who I still get together with 😎💋)

Charlie’s insanely good band played all night, Becky gifted him a new guitar (incredible), and the day was quite simply perfect (with thanks due in part to the Etsy witch 🤣🌦️) and some ridiculously cool styling ✨.

Suffice to say the dancefloor went OFF, and I crawled into bed late that night feeling very very happy that the stars aligned and I got to be the one there to shoot the whole thing. 🙌🏼😎💋

A little window into Australian wedding perfection… My baby cousin got married and I got to be there, sobbing happy tears behind my camera, and dancing into the night with her and all the family I’ve missed with all my heart for years. It’s no easy feat to travel so far, especially mid northern hemisphere wedding season - but I’d do it 1000 times over. Life is, after all, a great adventure…! The hardest part to be honest, was leaving.

Congratulations Eliza on finding your happily ever after in Fletcher, and Fletcher - welcome to the family!! 💕

Posting this has taken me a while because not only does it feel impossible to choose my favourites out of so many beautiful moments (and this is just the preview!), but I really am quite lost for words about the fever dream that was the last month, sitting with all these gems under Australian skies, twirling around on pristine beaches, feeling so much love for each every one of them, and feeling so loved myself.. not to be a total sap but this really IS what life is all about and I am very deeply moved that I’m EVER the one chosen to capture such sacred days - let alone for the little baby girl I remember being carried across the threshold of my house when I was 8 years old, a head full of black hair and the biggest eyes ever. I loved her so much. I love her still even moreso if that’s even possible. And I’m SO happy to see a man loving her so right. The LOVE that poured out of these two when we were shooting their portraits, just the three of us and the sea, genuinely blew me away and I don’t say that lightly. It was magic. 💫 Who knew life could be this beautiful huh?! 💕

The word twirling round my head today was ‘effervescent’. Steph and Chris - and their dancefloor shennanigans - were definitely effervescent. The embodiment of ‘main character energy’ too. From the celidh band to the second dress, it was an unstoppable, high energy PARTY. And I can confirm that the song blasting when they were showcasing their rings was indeed ‘Where is my husband?’ 🤣 what a good night this was 💫✨✨✨

I may or may not have reactivated TikTok in the hope of finding where all the 2027 and 2028 brides and grooms are hiding 👀 I wouldn’t say no to some more destination weddings for next year - but then again, with the UK weddings looking THIS gorgeous, I’m not complaining!

Take note: The only way to cope with the heat this summer. Icy champagne towers for the win. 🥳

England is going to have to make some pretty major adjustments if these heatwaves are our new normal.. summer weddings are going to have to roll like destination weddings - alfresco dining, later ceremonies, icy drinks everywhere, lighter meals and more canapés, lighter clothing materials (linens, cottons, chiffons, silks..), multiple wedding dress changes, MUA’s sticking around all day to retouch everything the sunshine melts.. parasols and shade considered, timelines adjusted, portraits after dinner, properties with pools favoured… wedding planners like Rachel Dalton | UK Wedding Planner who reallllly understand it.. venues like Euridge who are absolutely made for it… it’s a lot to think about! And I suspect it’s an adjustment that’s here to stay. Which is fab. I’m definitely not complaining, my Leo self LOVES the sun - but I will be stocking up on electrolytes and buying new work-wardrobe that’s for sure, and joining you for the icy drinks 😎

Give me everything you’ve got, I’ll give you everything I’ve got in return 💫

Would you believe me when I say this doesn’t even cover half of it?! We’ve still got numerous unseen scenes to come: clifftops, beach, canapes, group shots, and hundreds of candid moments, speeches, dinner, dancing, dress change.. so much more to come, all caught on both digital and film by yours truly, who pulled an 18 hour day in 36 degree heat for this magic - and it was worth every single second. Steph & Chris, you absolutely smashed it. 🔥

Personally for me though, it was granny sobbing as Steph walked down the aisle that did it for me. That and the most dreamy golden hour ever amongst the flowers of course..

Of note though is that if this is what English summers are like now, and if this is the level of incredibleness you’re all gonna keep showing up with, then we are officially in alfresco destination wedding territory and I’m going to have to stock up on electrolytes, ice packs, mini fans, and increase my prices to cover post-wedding massages.. just fyi. 😎

When Elannah and Jack booked my biggest ‘give me it all’ collection they asked if I could also shoot their pre wedding bbq, and of course I said YES - but I could never have imagined it being styled so beautifully, nor the weather playing ball so perfectly! That light was a DREAM, but so was every tiny little detail being so carefully considered.

We had some time beforehand to have a walkthrough with Rachel Dalton | UK Wedding Planner and Rix Weddings | Nick Rix, where we decided on where and how to shoot the ceremony the next day. One of the lessons I’ve learned most in this long career of mine is to know when to stay close, and when to step back - and when to NOT try and get every possible angle just for the sake of it. There’s a lot more intention behind my work these days than a few years ago that’s evolved through a mixture of experience, age, and shooting film and manual focus lenses. The fact is, at Euridge every angle looks amazing, so it’d be easy to over-shoot and be running around like a lunatic.. that’s not me anymore thankfully! Not for the ceremony anyway… we opted to stay out of the boat house and go for the wide shots from the terrace - and I’m happy to say that was a very good call!

And then, after deciding to be so mindful, we set off to shoot the bbq you see here, and I ended up swooning so hard over golden hour portraits and Elannah’s pre wedding wedding dress and all this gorgeous styling that felt like we were in Tuscany, that I immediately overshot the entire thing across all my digital and film cameras and lost all composure in the face of how utterly gorgeous it all was 😂😍😍😍🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Worth it though. 👌🏻

A perfect day was had at Euridge in every possible way, it blew me away from start to finish - and if anyone wonders where I am, I’ll be sleeping for a week now haha. (And sending off a HUGE bundle of super 8 and analogue film too, I can’t wait to see what I got on those cameras!!)

Saturday with the gorgeous Emily & Tyler 🤍

3 hours with them gave me a bazillion beautiful moments both inside and outside the mahoosive church in Tavistock (which, I might add, also has the absolute loveliest vicar I’ve ever met). For this wedding the main objective was the ceremony, church based portraits, group shots and emotions, with film vibes. Best brief ever really. I can’t wait to get the film back too! It’s always astounding how many incredible moments you can capture in that key 3 hour window at a wedding 🤩✨✨✨✨

A fun little side story is that I then had to shoot off to my next wedding (this time as a guest) and found my car battery was flat, and the vicar came to my rescue and gave me a jumpstart! Absolute legend.
