It's World Parkinson's Day today and we're here to help resist awareness.
Jay's father has Stage 3 Parkinson's, it's a degenerative neurological condition where often no 2 people share the same symptoms but commonly those symptoms are horrible. Every day is full of pain, discomfort and confusion, minor things we take for granted such as getting dressed, using cutlery and using our phones become a painful frustrating chore. Parkinson's sufferers often experience full body freezing, hallucinations, inability to swallow, impeded speech and tremors that impact daily life and fine motor skills.
There is no cure, just medication that comes with its own side effects and, like anything, good and bad days.
We feel it's important to spread awareness of Parkinson's Disease so people can understand how complex and varied it can be and hopefully one day science can prevent the development of it.
