Christina Draper Photography Photographer based in the Southwest England Welcome to my page... I am a passionate animal lover based in Dorset.

Im fortunate to have the best job capturing images of the two most majestic and loyal creatures that we are lucky enough to call friends, and along the way I have the pleasure of meeting some amazing people taking great pride in creating those special images to treasure forever. Although I had a passion for Photography from a very young age I started taking it more seriously in 2008 with a small p

oint and shoot camera. I needed to learn more and experiment with light and angles so before long I had bought my first DSLR Camera. I have been professionally taking photos since 2011 and was first Nationally published the same year. My style of photography is variable and usually dependant of the moments captured, from vibrant locations to dark and mysterious Fine Art. Having loved Horses from the day I could look into those big beautiful eyes it was a natural step for me to specialise in Equine photography, It was only a matter of time before photographing dogs would soon also become a big part of my work. Although my passion is with animals I still also enjoy occasional portrait style work. If you are interested in owning some treasured images of your animal friends please get in touch, I look forward to hearing from you.

Chloe & Monty
A lovely morning spent with these two! Another rather warm day, but Monty was a champ and behaved impeccably throughout, not at all bothered by the sheep’s, smoke Machine and crazy lady with a camera stuck to her face!
Again the bright sun pushed me away from what I had envisaged, but I’m still pleased with the results with this being one of my favorites from the day.
And thank to Liv for coming along and helping ❤️

Every horse has a story, and every expression tells a part of it. The moments I love most are the unscripted ones—the glance, the attitude, the quiet presence that makes them uniquely themselves.

Esther, as always, keeping it real!

Anyone who knows mares, will know she means business 🤣

Photography or art?

When I first picked up a camera I was frustrated that my shots rarely matched the image in my head.

Over the years, editing tools have advanced dramatically, giving photographers more freedom to shape their work.

Does that make it any less photography? I don’t think so.

You still need to capture the core elements in-camera — light, composition, and the ability to see what others might miss. For example, changing a background can completely alter a photo’s mood, yet the subject remains photography and the skill involved is still required.
For a long time I felt like a fraud when I manipulated images to realise my vision, but I’ve come to accept that there’s an art to finishing a picture after it leaves the camera.

What matters is how the process begins and how it ends; everything in between is simply my personal creative journey to bring that vision to life.

A slight change of direction…

For many years my photography has focused on horses and dogs, and that will always be a huge part of what I love to create.

Lately, though, I’ve felt the pull to learn something new. Over the coming months I’ll be spending more time exploring portraiture, creative lighting, and developing my technical skills as I work towards a photography qualification.

This image is one of my first steps on that journey.

I’m excited to experiment, make mistakes, learn, and hopefully grow as both a photographer and an artist. While animals will always be close to my heart, I’m looking forward to seeing where this new chapter takes me.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support my work. I’d love to know what this image makes you feel when you see it.

Her first Photoshoot!
Good Job she knows what she’s doing because I apparently do not! The sun decided to shine when I actually didn’t really want it, A few technical issues with monitors calibrated to excel sheets instead of photos, so everything looks wrong, and I’m very out of practice, even my insta and FB is being daft 🙄
