Yesterday I headed to Christchurch as I've heard that's the best place to spot the White Tailed Eagles. I got a bit of an early birthday present as they turned up 3 different times.
They are utterly incredible birds, impossible to mistake for anything else as they soar through the harbour using wings that measure nearly 7ft wide. Their arrival each time was signalled by every other bird in the area making an absolute racket, then there they were.
I saw two juveniles and one adult, and if you've not seen them yet I'd really recommend a trip down Christchurch way over the summer to see if you can catch a glimpse 🦅
