We were asked by The Warren Resort Abersoch to photograph the interiors of their newly renovated bar and restaurant — a project that came about following our previous interior and event work at Portmeirion

The brief was about more than just documenting a refurbishment. It was about showing how the space works: a welcoming bar, relaxed dining areas, thoughtful design details — and crucially, a space that works just as well for families as it does for evening drinks.

From the warmth of the lighting and textures, to the layout of the seating, right through to the dedicated children’s area, every detail has been considered — and our role was to photograph that balance honestly and naturally.

Interior photography is where Ioan Said Photography first made its name, with extensive work for 4 and 5-star hospitality venues across Cheshire, North Wales and Shropshire. We’re proud to continue providing imagery that reflects not just how a space looks, but how it feels to be in it.

Sometimes the purpose of a shoot is very simple.

A helmet you can borrow.
A bike you can hire.
A safe, closed-circuit track.
And friendly staff who take the time to help.

At Shrewsbury Sports Village , you don’t need all the gear or experience — just a willingness to have a go.

This shoot wasn’t about speed or performance.
It was about showing how accessible sport can be when barriers are removed.

📸 That people-first approach is exactly what Ioan Said Photography focuses on.
If you’re doing good work in your community and want it shown clearly and honestly, get in touch.

Behind the scenes on a recent case study shoot with CAPA Corporate .

I’ve been lucky to work with CAPA for over 13 years, contributing to projects across Great Britain for organisations including Air Liquide , TotalEnergies , Colas, and Ipsen — a global biopharmaceutical company focused on innovation and research.

What I love about these shoots is the collaborative nature of the work. CAPA often brings video crews over from France, and because French is my first language, I’m able to support both the production team and English-speaking clients on the ground.

On this shoot, I wasn’t just behind the camera:
✔️ Studio sourcing
✔️ Makeup artist coordination
✔️ Production support
✔️ Working alongside video, sound, and lighting teams

These are the kinds of projects I’m genuinely proud of — thoughtful, well-run productions built on teamwork.

One of the best parts of being a professional photographer is getting to step into worlds you’d never normally see — and learning just how much care and dedication goes into work that really matters.

These images are from our second project with the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, working with an incredible team based in Bangor, North Wales. From collecting river samples to measuring plant growth and recording data in the field, this is science in its most hands-on form.

What really stood out was the international nature of the team — people from many different backgrounds, all working together with a shared purpose: understanding our environment and helping protect it for the future.

The photographs were commissioned for internal and external communications, including recruitment, to show the reality of the work and the people behind it.

If you’re looking for authentic, people-focused photography that tells a real story about what you do and why it matters, feel free to get in touch.

📩 Always happy to chat about new projects.

A throwback that still makes me smile 🌾

I’ve loved working with companies like , and Neogen, photographing the science and technology behind modern farming. But what really makes farming special is the people.

This portrait was taken a few years ago for a farm shop client who wanted to celebrate the producers behind their produce — and it sums up everything I love about the farming community.

From the lab to the land. Real people. Real stories.

If you want photography that truly represents your farming business or farm shop, you know where to find me. 😊

It’s no secret that I love the countryside — and I love the farming community.

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work on some brilliant shoots with Lely , LG Seeds UK and Neogen Corp , showcasing the science and technology that sit behind modern farming. This image, though, is a throwback from a few years ago and it reminds me why farming is so special in the first place.

This portrait was taken for one of our farm shop clients who wanted to celebrate the people and producers supplying their shelves. And honestly, I can’t look at this photograph without smiling.

From the boffins in the lab to the people working hard on the land, farming is about people — knowledge, pride, graft and connection.

If you’re running a farming business or a farm shop and want photography that genuinely reflects who you are and the people behind it, you know where to find me.

Back on the Elizabeth line for a 2024 shoot with SYSTRA

I was hired by CAPA PICTURES to lead the photography and brought in Jago Miller to handle the video. Jago and I have a great history of collaborating on projects for clients like Visit Wales and the National Churches Trust, so it was great to bring that partnership to this iconic London project.

I’ve been working on a huge variety of projects for CAPA since 2013, but this one really stands out for its scale and design.

Looking back at the grand finale of my 2025 calendar: the Finance Director of the Year Awards at the Crowne Plaza Liverpool City Centre 🏆✨

It was an incredible night capturing the leaders of the North West finance sector. Beyond the trophies and black-tie glamour, it was a night of real impact, raising thousands for Claire House. From the high-energy room setup to the celebration of winners like John Reid ( Montirex ) and Andy Hughes ( Liverpool FC ), the atmosphere was electric from start to finish.

This event was the perfect way to conclude a busy year of corporate storytelling.

Are you planning a prestigious awards ceremony or gala for 2026? Let’s ensure every milestone is captured perfectly. Contact Ioan Said Photography to book your Event Photography for the new year! 📩

Happy New Year! 🎉

As we head into the year full steam, I wanted to kick things off by reminding people what we do and the breadth of work we’re involved in.

From now on, you’ll see a bit more activity here — but nothing overwhelming. The plan is:

Two posts a week showcasing our most recent work

Throwback Thursdays, highlighting past projects that still say a lot about how we work

The aim is to give a clearer picture of the range of projects we’ve photographed and managed over the years.

We’re not just photographers. Alongside photography, we’re experienced drone operators, and we also project manage full shoots — sourcing venues, models, crews, and managing logistics from start to finish.

So, to kick off our first Throwback Thursday, I’m sharing work from one of my favourite former clients: Dee Valley Water, prior to their acquisition by Hafren Dyfrdwy / Severn Trent

These images were taken during the construction of a new water treatment facility, built by Black & Veatch, now known as Binnies.

Dee Valley Water were a longstanding client, and over several years we delivered work involving members of the public, reservoirs, outdoor infrastructure, and operational sites. This particular shoot took place on a live construction site.

We work extensively across construction and heavy industry, so being fully PPE’d, working safely, and operating without disrupting site activity is second nature. The priority is always to keep people safe while capturing images that genuinely reflect the scale and reality of what’s happening on site.

If you’re looking for a commercial photographer to work on a live project like this — or any project you think might benefit from this approach — we’d love to hear from you. Visit our website to see more of our work and get in touch.

It was an absolute pleasure to photograph this event — a day full of fascinating speakers, workshops, and guests. A particular highlight was meeting Lord Katz, who did an incredible job tackling some very tough questions with honesty and clarity.

And I have to say… one of the nicest event buffets I’ve ever had the chance to enjoy while working behind the camera! 📸✨

Next week looks just as exciting — I’ll be heading to Portmeirion for headshots, followed by photographing an MP on an official visit.

📸 While I’m best known for large-scale campaign photography—shooting and project managing major projects for governing bodies and international agencies—I also love supporting local businesses with smaller, meaningful projects.

Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing updated headshots for my long-time clients, the brilliant architects at Paddock Johnson. Always a joy to work with repeat customers who value creative consistency.

Next up: a return to a place very close to my heart— Portmeirion. I’ve shot countless weddings there (with more than a few awards and wedding album wins along the way through our Celynnen Photography !), created interiors photography, and even photographed their New Year’s Eve brochure.

I also shot a campaign for mobile provider Three UK there back in the day. This time, I’m back for a fresh set of headshots for Mentera Cymru—a returning client I’m proud to work with again.

Also looking forward to heading to Birmingham to work with JSCN. I first connected with them while planning a photojournalism project exploring the commonalities between Muslim, Jewish, and non-religious communities in Britain—a project still very close to my heart.

🎯 Whether you’re planning a full campaign or just need a few fresh headshots or drone images, I’d love to hear from you. I offer both drone and traditional photography services, from high-level campaigns to one-off projects. Let’s bring your vision to life.
