OUT OF OFFICE!

And feeling like these happy people!! Your girl is about to head off for a couple of weeks! A few days just me and Matt, and then we’re off with the girls! I’m going to (try) and practice what I preach and completely leave social media for a bit to fully disconnect but I’ll be back on Sunday briefly for the change over so I’ll check in then! See you on the other side! ⛰️🌄✈️🏝️

This wedding was up there with one of the most memorable. I can’t believe Ally & Steve planned the whole thing remotely. I can’t believe there are stunning gardens like this an hour from my house. I can’t believe we got to do a first look in a space like that, completely private and secluded. And all of it was done before opening hours which was incredibly romantic!

Oh hai there, I’m Grace and there’s quite a few new people on here - so I thought it was time for an about me post!

1. I’m a BIG romantic. As you can tell from these BTS snaps from me at weddings, I love love and will grin from ear to ear most of the day.

2. I’m very Type A. Spreadsheets, moodboards, timelines - I love to see it! Organising is FUN!

3. I had a covid wedding. Can’t say I recommend it but it did give me a whole new appreciation for micro weddings and how incredible they can be.

4. I have two Cavapoos - Daisy and Bertie. But I am also a cat lover. Controversial I know!

5. My husband has a Canon camera, and I have Sony. Your brand of camera is a big deal in tog world. We nearly divorced over our differences but our love overcame it ... 🤣🤣

6. My favourite types of weddings are build off vibes. Give me a wedding with loads of joy, energy and fun. I am THERE with bells on.

7. Most people who book me aren’t used to being in front of camera, they feel a bit nervous about it. So working with couples who ‘don’t know what to do’ but really want gorge photos of them - is kinda my USP.

8. Over the years my editing style has got more natural. True to life colours, super natural edits are my thing. That said I WILL be getting rid of that orange Sainsbury’s bag in post. It’s not the vibe!

9. I have two kids under the age of 5. So children really don’t phase me - I always have sweets in my bag on weddings - mostly for me but also for kid bribes where needed!

10. I’m pretty much a textbook introvert. I stay in my car as long as possible at school pick up, I love to read romantasy in the evenings, cosy is my thing when I’m not working, I also keep fish and have hundred of cherry shrimp right now (they just keep breeding)!

In today’s episode of how many images can I squeeze into 20 slides because this wedding was so darn good?! The stunning Emily & Nick got hitched at Barns & Yard yesterday in glorious May sunshine! With the prettiest lakeside ceremony, beautiful lilac florals and bridesmaid dresses and the perfect golden hour cocktail hour and stroll in the fields - this wedding was utterly perfect.

Emily & Michael’s final wedding album went out today! I’m so sad to say goodbye to these gorgeous human beings but here are 20 frames I absolutely adore from their gallery, and the 20 reasons why I love them so!

1. This image was taken, with the hill Michael proposed on in the background and it was such a full circle moment!
2. E looking angelic with her Dad’s prized tractor frames next to her.
3. The floofs dress reveal 🥹
4. And cuddles afterwards in gorgeous light!
5. This couple sharing a laugh together makes my heart happy.
6. It’s giving, just married!
7. I love the barn and the cloudless sky against the trees! B&W just makes it all shillouettey and cool!
8. E&M having a moment after we made them laugh!
9. The way the light fell on the bubbles was so perfect
10. Just the lake, the light, the dress, the haze. 🤌
11. The light hit them just right on the bridge
12. You can feel the love in this photo. The way E tenderly wipes away something from M’s face. They’re just so besotted and I adore it.
13. Hands and midges which look like sparkles in the light!
14. I’m starting to convert to a tilted image when it brings in movement and energy. The dress just fell so perfectly.
15. Emily’s Nan watching on as they headed inside after golden hour. 🥹
16. Lawn games! They kept missing the hole but the laughter it brought was perfection!
17. I love capturing nature in small ways on a wedding day, this was the most perfect leaf with sunlight seeping in.
18. Those in between moments between when photos are being taken on someone’s phone are what I wait for!
19. Where the hell is my husband song playing and E doing this. We LOVE to see it!

Oh don’t mind this blubbering mess over here. Making reels like this always makes me weep! But I love hunting for these photos where it’s me and that personal interacting through the camera so so much! 🥰🥹❤️

The way I look at weddings has changed so much over time. I’ve learnt first hand what my couples value the most from my work, not just after the wedding but the years after. Instead of looking for the next Instagram worthy moment (though I do LOVE an epic wedding moment), I now go into a wedding day thinking about what photos will only grow in value over time to the people within them. A little girl holding her Dad’s hand on his wedding day, knowing one day she may have that framed somewhere on her own day. The dance party the bride has with the people in her life who got her to where she is now. The way the candelight reflected through glasses of champagne during speeches. Such small little moments which pass so fast, forgotten otherwise but bottled up for them to keep forever. So yes, I’ll always be on the lookout for gorgeous light, epic portraits and golden evenings, but those little moments through the day which I know will go on to become so important in the future, even if they’re just trivial everyday things now - those I’ll be on the lookout for too.
