One of my favourite flashbacks to Sophie & Richard, waiting to meet baby Annabelle 🤍

Although technically, they were already a little family of three… because gorgeous Rosie the Cockapoo was absolutely not being left out of their maternity session.

I love looking back at these photographs. That stage just before your baby arrives is such a fleeting one - full of excitement, anticipation and all those conversations about who this tiny person is going to be.

At the time, Annabelle was still a bump and Rosie was still the baby of the family.

Sophie and Richard came back to see me again after Annabelle arrived, which makes these photographs even more special to look back on now. I’m not able to share their newborn images, but I feel very lucky that I got to capture both chapters for them.

Maternity photographs become such a beautiful marker in time. Not just of your bump, but of who you were together just before you became a family in a whole new way.

And yes - fur babies are always welcome 🤍

Tiny details, sleepy stretches and those first little expressions 🤍

I love keeping newborn sessions simple and timeless, so the focus stays exactly where it should be — on your baby and the connection between you.

These are the photographs that become more precious as the years pass, when you can hardly remember them being this tiny.

Newborn sessions are suitable for babies up to around 16 weeks, with studio and in-home options available.

I know it feels far too early to be talking about Christmas, but there’s actually quite a lot that goes on behind the scenes to bring these sessions together — from planning the set and sourcing everything to organising dates and all the little details — so I’m starting to think ahead to this year’s Christmas Mini Sessions.

I’m currently looking at Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November (dates TBC), and before I start planning this year’s set I’d love to get an idea of how much interest there is.

Today’s little London adventure

We went to see the David Attenborough experience at the Natural History Museum today and it was absolutely brilliant.

Such an immersive way to explore our incredible planet — from rainforests to the deepest parts of the ocean — all brought to life with Sir David Attenborough narrating along the way.

What I loved most was the message behind it all — that our planet is extraordinary, but also incredibly fragile, and that the choices we make now really do matter. A lovely reminder that protecting nature isn’t just about saving wildlife, but about looking after the world we all depend on.

We absolutely loved it. Definitely one to add to the summer holiday list if you have an animal or nature-loving child.

We finished off with lunch and a wander around South Bank with ice cream — making memories together🤍

A new baby has a wonderful way of bringing everyone together.

One of my favourite moments during newborn sessions is stepping back and letting families simply be with each other. No complicated posing – just cuddles, tiny hands, sleepy snuggles and the quiet excitement of welcoming someone brand new into the family.

These are the photographs that often become the most treasured years later because they capture exactly how this chapter felt.

If you’re expecting and would love natural, timeless newborn photographs, I recommend booking soon after your 20-week scan to ensure you secure a space in my diary. I have already started taking bookings for autumn and the lead-up to Christmas, so it’s never too early to get your due date reserved.

Welcoming a new baby into the family is about so much more than tiny fingers and sleepy cuddles.

It’s watching your family find its new rhythm.

Seeing Zara gently cuddle into her baby brother, Alfie, was one of those moments that needed no direction at all. Just pure love, curiosity and the beginning of a beautiful sibling bond.

These are the photographs I hope families treasure most. Not because everything is perfectly posed, but because they capture a feeling. One day, when Alfie is no longer wrapped up in your arms and Zara has long outgrown those gentle cuddles, these images will take you straight back to the very beginning.

Thank you for trusting me to capture such a special chapter in your family’s story. It was an honour to meet little Alfie and photograph your beautiful family.
