It’s been a busy season over here. 🤍

More so in my personal life, but also with this business of mine.

When I started photography, I promised myself that if it ever started to bring more anxiety than joy, I would take a step back and make it manageable again.

And that’s exactly what I’m learning to do.

I have two little toddlers who need me so much right now… and honestly, some days I feel like I need them just as much. So when I have to choose, I’m choosing them.

I’m also choosing me. I’m building healthier habits, looking after myself and trying to create a little more balance in this beautiful, chaotic season of life.

Because I never started photography just to make money.

I started because I LOVE creating. I love capturing connection, little moments and the things that we know won’t last forever.

And if I’m honest, I’ve felt a little creatively blocked over the last few months. I started wondering where that spark had gone.

Then I get behind my camera.

And suddenly… there it is again. 🌿

This lavender session reminded me exactly why I love this so much. I absolutely adored photographing this beautiful family, surrounded by lavender and summer light.

I think I’ll be making sure I book a few more lavender sessions next year. 🤍

Slowly, intentionally, and in a way that fits this season of my life.

Because maybe this business doesn’t have to happen all at once.

Maybe it can grow alongside me.

And one day, I still hope this little side passion becomes my full-time passion. 🤍

For now, I’m just really grateful I get to create.

We played, we laughed, we giggled, and we captured so many beautiful memories. 🤍

I wanted to have a little play before my official client sessions to remind myself just how unpredictable little ones can be once they’re full of excitement… holy smokes, they can be fast! 😂 It was also the perfect chance to see how well my camera could keep up with all the running, jumping, and non-stop energy.

I absolutely love it! This kind of playful chaos is where the magic happens. The genuine smiles, the laughter, the cuddles, and the moments in between are exactly what I love capturing.

A few months ago, took these photos of me.

At the time, I could barely look at them.

Not because there was anything wrong with the photos—she is incredibly talented—but because of the way I saw myself.

I judged every single image. I only saw someone who was “too big,” someone who looked tired, older, dull… and I carried so much resentment towards myself. I truly believed I was failing in every area of my life, and those feelings became the lens through which I viewed these photos.

Fast forward to last night.

I’m finally putting the finishing touches on my website, including the page that tells you why I do what I do. I needed photos of myself… and honestly, I dreaded opening that folder.

It’s so much easier to hide behind the camera than to stand in front of it.

And that’s exactly why I understand my clients. I know what it feels like to worry about how you’ll look, to feel awkward, or to be your own harshest critic. My job is to help you feel comfortable, relaxed, and seen—but at the end of the day, the hardest part isn’t the camera. It’s the story we tell ourselves.

When I opened those photos again, I cried.

Not because I hated them…

Because I couldn’t believe how wrong I’d been.

I saw someone who looked happy. Strong. Beautiful.

No, I’m not at my goal weight. I’m not the “best version” of myself that I’d imagined. But I also wasn’t the person my inner critic convinced me I was.

It made me wonder how many moments we miss because we’re too busy picking ourselves apart.

So here’s your reminder: be kinder to yourself. One day you’ll look back at today’s photos and wish you’d seen yourself the way the people who love you already do.

A lot has been happening behind the scenes lately… rebranding, rediscovering my creativity, and finding my energy again. 🤍

This past weekend reminded me why I picked up a camera in the first place. It reconfirmed that this is one of the gifts God has given me, and creating images that tell a story truly brings me to life.

Of course, hearing how much my clients love their photos means the world to me. But what fills my heart even more is being behind the camera. Helping people feel comfortable, confident, and free to simply be themselves. Capturing the smiles, the hugs, the laughter, the little in-between moments that become treasured memories.

There’s something so special about looking back through a gallery and smiling, knowing those moments will never be forgotten. That’s why I do what I do.

I don’t just love photography… it makes me feel alive.

I truly believe we all have different purposes, and I feel like I’ve found part of mine. I’m so excited to see where the Lord leads this journey and how He uses it for His glory. ✨

The photos your children treasure one day won't be the ones where your hair was perfect.

They won't care about the extra weight.
The dark circles.
The clothes you wore.

They'll care that you were there.

That they had proof of your hugs.
Your smile.
Your love.

Please don't wait for a "better" version of yourself.
