Took my friend Tom out last night for a pint, as usual my camera came out and he was quick to get behind the bar to pour a pint.
I had been out that day shooting wildlife so I only had the 70-200mm f2.8 on the camera.
It was quite dim so I upped the iso to 2,500 to get a shutter speed of 1/200th – f2.8 – .
Better to have a bit of noise in the shot than camera shake.
We got a few smiles from the customers.
We did pay for the drinks!

Out and about with the SIRUI 85mm f1.2 lens. Like the way it throws the background well out of focus.

Tue 21st May weather looks iffy.
Time to scan some old mono negatives.
Ilford FP4 rated at 125asa - Nikon FM2 - 50mm 1.4 lens.
Flash meter was used to get the exposure correct as no picture magically appeared on the back of your camera!!
No Photoshop so you had to get things as good as you could in camera.
This set is from January 1989.
When lighting full length shots there was always the problem of harsh shadows and foot prints on you Colorama background paper especially when its white. It was I think £20 a roll.
Four Courtenay Flash Heads were used, two for your subjects with white shoot through brollies and two to light the background evenly.
The units are still working to this day!
Bottom right shot I asked for a moody look and they sure did the bis, nearly cracked my lens!
