Manufacturing is a huge and vital part of the UK's economy: it's always a brilliant challenge to photograph production sites in a way that brings a touch of creativity and energy into every shot (all while staying safe and not being squashed by a big machine or passing fork lift). Today's job. Photographing vet and parliamentary candidate Danny Chambers with horses. Don't work with animals..? Well, no problem as it turned out. The horses were stars, plus Danny knows how to handle them and I just had to think about the light. Don't forget to vote people... and yes Wi******er is a -ahem - two horse race!

Has to be one of my favourite recent shoots - getting in the water to learn about river health, hunt tiny shrimps and support Danny Chambers' anti sewage dumping campaigning. Danny took a few behind the scene shots of me trying to stop my lighting getting washed away (one foot on the lighting stand, one foot for me) while not falling in and wrecking my kit.
