After 11 incredible years, I have made the difficult decision to close Rachel Barron Photography.

I want to say the biggest thank you to all of my amazing customers who have trusted me to capture such special moments over the years. It has truly been an honour to photograph your families and watch your children grow from tiny newborns through all the precious stages of childhood. Over the years, so many of you have become not just customers, but friends, and that means more to me than I can put into words.

I have recently started a new job at my children’s primary school, which I absolutely adore, and with the changing photography market, the time feels right for me to begin this new chapter. With the growth of AI and more people choosing to take their own photos on mobile phones, the industry has changed so much.

I will deeply miss the newborn shoots, cake smashes, and creating beautiful memories for you all—but I leave with a full heart and so much gratitude for the support you have shown me over the years.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

It’s that time of year again when mini eggs are lining the supermarket shelves. But, did you know that, just like grapes, they are the perfect size to block a small child’s airway and choke them? And, their hard shell can make it difficult to dislodge with standard first aid techniques.

With whole grapes we advise cutting them in half lengthways and ideally into quarters to create thin strips. But chopping up mini eggs isn’t as easy. So, what can you do?

1. Hide them from the children and eat them yourself – good luck with that!

2. Break them into small pieces with a rolling pin. Or, crush them in a pestle and mortar. Or melt them a little first.

3. Opt for a different treat. Larger, hollow eggs are much safer for little ones.

There's something very special about a newborn photoshoot. Freeze a moment in time where your little one will never be as tiny again. I will capture the details you spend hours looking at, like their tiny hands and feet, chubby cheeks, and little button nose.
I had a wonderful family recently and photographed their new arrival along with his older sister. It was lovely to meet you all and I cant wait to show you your gallery. Here's a few of my favourites so far.

My daughter is absolutely obsessed with princesses and basically anything girly. She will be turning 4 on Friday and asked me to do a princess photoshoot for her. Your wish has been granted Phoebe 👑😍.
We had such a lovely time time together and she was amazed when I showed her the images. Let me know if there would be any interest if I started doing 'mini princess photoshoots' xx

Beautiful Nancy turned 1 on Sunday. We had a fabulous time during her cake smash session, trying cake, singing songs and having a bubble bath after. It was a pleasure to meet her and her family 😍.
