The Daniel Adamson at Latchford Locks

Built in 1903 at Tranmere, Wirral, by the Tranmere Bay Development Company, the Daniel Adamson originally served as a tug tender named Ralph Brocklebank. In 1936, it was renamed after the first chairman of the Manchester Ship Canal Company. For decades, the vessel played a vital role in transporting VIPs, dignitaries, and company directors along the canal, showcasing the might of British engineering and trade.

Photographed at Latchford Locks, the Daniel Adamson stands as a proud symbol of the region’s maritime legacy — a living museum gliding through the heart of England’s industrial waterways.
