The Barbie Movie was not a fluffy, ditsy movie for girls. It was a movie about misogyny and the oppression of women. The irony that Ken (Ryan Gosling) stole the show at the Oscars and the movie itself, despite making bank at the box office, was largely overlooked for accolade is not lost on me.
