On Film, Slowly.
Working with film changes the rhythm of photographing. There is no instant reassurance, no immediate checking, and no quick correction. The photograph has to wait. So do I. A first selection of photographs is now on my website, including recent work from the Yorkshire Dales, from France and from Santorini.
It's a change of direction (though not to the exclusion of digital photography, I hasten to add), or perhaps a widening of the path. I am not quite sure yet where it will take me.

Alsace is influenced by both France and Germany in its architecture, language and traditions, and that depth of history gives the region its distinctive photographic character.

Charlie Waite and Astrid McGechan Photography will take you on an exploration of cobbled streets, medieval church spires, half-timbered houses, vineyard slopes and castle viewpoints across one of Europe’s most visually rich regions.

Based in Ribeauvillé, you’ll enjoy immediate access to medieval streets, architectural detail and textures, before venturing further to photograph places such as Riquewihr alongside quieter corners that still hold the character of old Alsace.
