Finding it hard to believe that this little business of mine is 5 years old this month! It feels just like when the children have a birthday and I'm left wondering where the time has gone!

I can honestly say I've loved every minute so far. Thank you to every single person who has supported me along the way! ❤️

“I'll just open my laptop for five minutes…”

That’s usually how it starts.

You sit down to send a quick email or finish something small before the school run, and suddenly there are little feet beside you, questions being asked, toys appearing on the floor and a train track being built nearby.

Building a business around motherhood hardly ever looks quiet or tidy. It happens in the in-between moments. During nap times, after bedtime, or squeezed into those little pockets of the day when you can focus for a few minutes.

But somehow, things do get built.

Ideas turn into plans. Plans turn into businesses. All alongside the everyday rhythm (and sometimes chaos!) of family life.

When I photograph women in business, I’m always thinking about this balance. The work they care deeply about, and the life that sits around it. Both matter, and both deserve to be part of the story.

If you’re a business owner building something alongside raising a family, especially during the school holiday, you’ll know just how full those days can feel.

And how proud you quietly are of what you’re creating within them.

“Can we bring the dog?”

It’s one of the questions I’m often asked before a family photo session.

And the answer is always yes.

Dogs are such a big part of family life. They’re there for the everyday moments, the walks, the cuddles on the sofa, the children growing up alongside them. It only feels right that they’re included in your photographs too.

Some dogs are wonderfully calm and happy to sit with everyone. Others prefer to explore a little more and pop in and out of the pictures. Both are completely fine. We simply let things run at their pace and work around them, just as we do with children.

Often those little in-between moments end up being favourites. A child giving their dog a quick cuddle, a quiet look between them, or a burst of laughter when the dog decides to do something unexpected.

Those small moments are part of your family story too.

If you’re planning a family photography session in Surrey this spring, you’re always very welcome to bring your dog along. Spring sessions are now booking and weekend dates are beginning to fill up. 🌿

“Stand nicely next to your sibling.”
It’s usually the quickest way to make things feel a bit awkward.

Children interact so much more naturally when they’re given something to do rather than being asked to pose. During sibling photographs I often turn it into a little game instead. Sometimes I’ll ask the older one to whisper something funny, sometimes we play a quick round of “Would you rather”, or we see who can make the other laugh first.

Before long they forget about the camera completely.

That’s when the real moments appear. The little looks between them. The quiet giggles. The way they naturally lean towards each other.
Moments like this one.

Spring is such a lovely time for family photography in Surrey, with beautiful colours and everything just beginning to feel a little brighter again. If you’ve been thinking about updating your family photos this year, spring sessions are now booking and weekend dates are starting to fill up. 🌸

If you’re looking for a Surrey family photographer who takes a relaxed, child-led approach, you’re so welcome to send me a message and we can plan something that feels just right for your family.

“Smile!”

It’s usually the quickest way to make a child do the exact opposite.

Most children don’t love being asked to perform on cue, especially when there’s a camera involved. The smiles that feel the most like them tend to appear when they’re distracted, chatting or laughing about something unexpected.

During my sessions we often play little games instead. I might ask a few “Would you rather” questions or have a go at some tongue twisters together. It doesn’t take long before someone starts giggling, and that’s when the natural expressions appear.

The thoughtful looks.
The slightly cheeky smiles.
The proper belly laughs.
Those are the moments I’m always hoping for.
Not perfectly practised smiles, but the ones that belong to them.

If you’re looking for a Surrey family photographer who takes a relaxed, child-led approach, send me a message.

And if you have a good “Would you rather” question or a favourite tongue twister, I’d love to hear it. I’m always looking for new ones to add to my list!❤️

How was your weekend? I had such a trip down memory lane on Saturday. I met up, in my hometown, with three of my lovely friends who I've known for over three decades! We spend the afternoon 'daytime clubbing' in one of our favourites clubs from our teenage years. We had was the best afternoon laughing and dancing. So much fun! There's nothing quite like spending time with people who've known you forever, is there?

I'm now on the countdown to mid April, when my outdoor family photography sessions are starting again. I can't wait! My diary is starting to fill up so do get in touch if you're hoping to capture some gorgeous photos of your family this spring or summer. 🌸

Some families come back to me again and again.

This photo was taken a few years ago, on a soft spring day filled with laughter, wriggly legs, and that beautiful kind of chaos that comes with little ones close in age. Two small children tucked safely into mum’s arms, the world feeling big and exciting and completely theirs.

This April, I’ll be photographing this family again. This time with three children.

That’s the part that always catches me. How quickly life keeps moving and how a session becomes a marker in time. Not because everything was perfect, but because it was real.

This is why I photograph families the way I do. Gently. With space to breathe. Letting children be children and parents simply be present. As a Surrey family photographer, my aim is always to create images that hold feeling, not just faces.

Photos like this grow in meaning as the years pass. They remind you where you started, and how far you’ve come.

And one day, they’ll tell a story your children might not even remember, but will always feel.

There is something so special about this stage.

Not the big moments we plan for, but the small ones that slip past almost unnoticed. A family walk. A favourite path. The family dog who wants to be involved with everything! Tiny hands and feet learning how the world works, one step at a time.

This is what so many parents tell me. They didn’t book a session for the “perfect photo”. They booked it because they realised how quickly this season is moving.

Family photography isn't just about standing still and smiling for the camera. It is about being together. Letting children lead. Letting things unfold naturally. Capturing the way your child reaches for your hand without thinking, or how you both look at them with that quiet mix of pride and wonder.

These are the photographs that grow more meaningful with time. The ones that feel like real life when you look back at them years from now.

Based in Surrey, I photograph families in a relaxed, gentle way, focusing on connection. If you are ever thinking about documenting this chapter, you don't need a special occasion. This stage is reason enough.

The smallest details are often the ones that we want to stay with us the longest.

Tiny toes curled into a parent’s hand.
The warmth of a newborn resting against your chest.
Those first days when time feels slow and everything else fades into the background.

This is what I love about at-home newborn sessions. There’s no rush, no posing for the sake of it. Just quiet moments, familiar surroundings, and space to let things unfold naturally. Your baby stays close to you, exactly where they feel safest, and we gently capture the connection that’s already there.

These photographs aren’t about perfection. They’re about remembering how it felt in those early days - the weight of them in your hands, the stillness and the love.

As a Surrey photographer, I photograph newborn sessions in family homes across Surrey, creating natural, timeless images that reflect real life, just as it is in that moment.

These days pass so quickly, and capturing those memories matters more than we often realise.

These early days are often a blur, but the feeling of holding your baby close is something many parents remember forever.

During my newborn sessions, I gently photograph these quiet moments as they unfold naturally. There’s no need to pose or perform. Parents cuddle, soothe and settle their baby in their own way, while I document the connection between you. This image, with mum and dad both close, says so much about those first weeks of learning and loving together.

All of my newborn photography sessions take place in clients’ homes, here in Walton-on-Thames and across Surrey. Being at home means you can relax, feed and cuddle your baby whenever needed, without worrying about routines or rushing out of the door. We work slowly and calmly, following your baby’s lead throughout.

If you’re expecting a baby and would like natural, relaxed newborn photographs that focus on connection rather than perfection, you’re very welcome to comment below or send me a message and we can chat things through gently and without pressure.

There’s something very special about photographing newborns at home, surrounded by familiar voices, favourite blankets and the people who love them most.
This little one was happiest being close to mum and dad, nestled in their arms while we took things slowly. There’s no rush with my newborn sessions. We pause for feeds, cuddles and changes as needed, following your baby’s lead throughout. These quiet moments, tiny hands and wide-eyed expressions are often the ones parents treasure most as time passes.
All of my newborn photography sessions take place in your own home, here in Walton-on-Thames and across Surrey. It means you don’t need to go anywhere or prepare anything special. You can simply stay where you’re comfortable and let me gently document this fleeting stage for you.
If you’re expecting a baby and would like natural, relaxed newborn photographs in your own home, you’re very welcome to message me or leave a comment and we can chat things through calmly and without pressure.

This is Jacqueline, , an accredited coach who supports her clients with warmth, clarity and a real sense of ease.

Jacqueline booked one of my mini personal branding sessions a couple of years ago. Like many women I work with, she felt a little unsure about being in front of the camera to begin with. We kept everything relaxed and natural, with simple guidance and space to chat, which helped her settle in quickly. This image feels like a really good reflection of how the session unfolded, calm, approachable and very her.

Mini personal branding sessions are just 20 minutes long and are for one person at a time, which often makes them feel far more manageable. You receive a small, carefully curated gallery of 12 images, from which you can choose your 5 favourites, with the option to upgrade to the full gallery afterwards if you wish.

I’m a personal branding photographer based in Walton-on-Thames, working with women in business across Surrey who want natural, approachable branding photography, even if having their photo taken feels daunting at first.
I’m currently booking mini personal branding sessions, with one slot available on 20th January and more availability on 10th February. If you’d like to chat about whether a mini session would suit you, you’re very welcome to comment below or send me a message and we can talk it through gently and without pressure.
