Platform 2¾!

Diesel Class 43 no. D123 'Leicestershire and Derbyshire Yeomanry' runs around the train at Loughborough station during a visit to GCR in March.

While waiting for the train to return to Leicester North, I waited for the D123 to run around the train before it took us on another journey.

Back down to GCR tomorrow for a Cream Teas event provided by Fox and Edwards.

What could be better? Steam trains, journey through the countryside and explore the history of these heritage railways. ...

What could be better? Steam trains, journey through the countryside and explore the history of these heritage railways. Enjoy a fun day out with family and friends making memories. Without visiting we would lose something special from British history.

Fly You Fools!

SR Battle of Britain Class no. 34067 'Tangmere' on 'The Dalesman' for West Coast Railways over Ribblehead viaduct yesterday. First time viewing this for me yesterday and it certainly is a majestic sight to take in, even in the driving rain.

The second shot was taken on the return journey through Yanwath on it's way down to Carnforth.

(Don't really fly guys, it's just a reference to the song choice 😂).

Curving Through the Tracks.

On the first week of Tornado/Scotsman running weekends at the GCRN, Peppercorn Class A1 no. 60163 operates a passenger service south towards Loughborough.

Tornado makes its way onto the main tracks curving around the goods wagons stored at the 50 Steps bridge.
