This is a cyanotype of one of the portraits I did of Janina last year.
The original portrait became an inspiration for my Woman Without a Voice project, and I always planned to make a few different mixed-media pieces from it. This is the first step. I will come back to it and will probably add some painting to the print.
The third image is the original cyanotype, before I applied the additional layers and removed the mouth.

This portrait was part of a shoot for an aspiring actress. I then played with the idea of seeing the same person twice - two expressions, two versions of the same character. Her blue eyes, sweater, denim and textured blue studio background brought everything together in a single blue world.

Shot on Hasselblad X2D 100C.

For this Fusion, I decided to combine a portrait with peeling paint textures. I wanted to create the feeling that the portrait is gradually becoming part of the wall. The second image shows the original portrait.

Just to let you know, I now have dates for the next 3-session Colour in Multiple Exposure Portraits Course.

I have also started a new 2-session Introduction to Multiple Exposure Portraits Course.

Please see the links in my bio for more information and dates.

Another image from the practical session of my Studio Lighting and Multiple Exposure Editing course last week.
Finding the right texture for this portrait wasn’t easy. The original image was already strong, so I didn’t want to overdo it by adding too many layers.
In the end, I used just a few subtle textures to create a softer, more atmospheric and painterly feel while keeping the portrait as the main focus. Sometimes less really is more.

Paintings that make me happy 😊
Meadow Notes
Over the past few weeks I’ve been exploring a new series of acrylic paintings inspired by wild meadows.
Rather than painting individual flowers, I’m trying to capture the feeling of being surrounded by grasses, light, colour and the atmosphere of a meadow.
Each painting starts intuitively and develops through layers, marks and glazes until it begins to come together.
These are 2 of the 5 paintings I’ve completed so far. My plan is to continue exploring different colour combinations and canvas sizes.
The Yellow Meadow is 20 × 25 cm, and the Pink Meadow is 40 × 50 cm.

I decided to go for an abstract as this is the theme for 52frames this week.
The portrait was taken earlier this week during fine art portrait course I run in Uttoxeter.
