HOURS FOR GALLERY/SHED: WEATHER AND WORK DEPENDANT. Honesty boxes in situ when closed. As the name suggests, I'm inspired by Sunshine and by Shadows.

TINY gallery selling glass coasters, notebooks, glass placemats, mugs, calendars, cards of various sizes and content (all blank for your own messages) and prints. I am a dedicated amateur photographer, who likes to share work and hopefully inspire others. If you see something on here that you especially like, and would like to purchase either in print firm, or digital download. I can't believe I've not posted from the last weekend of aurora over Pennan. It's been a busy week for me so I'm excusing myself!! Anyway, a wee milky way shot over the headland and then some progression shots of how the Aurora unfolded on the 10th October. Seemingly the rest of the country had red alert and huge rays etc, well, we had clouds, and lots of them, but as I say, I like the variety which clouds offer as opposed to simply red/green/pink/yellow skies :)

Took an afternoon away from home today, headed to Aden Country Park for a few hours. Beautiful day with some nice low sunshine. Swans and macro work.

12 days 428 visitors. The Society of Scottish Landscape Photographer exhibition in Pennan was well received!! Despite road closures, car park closures, inclement weather, people still came to the hall to enjoy the photography. Every exhibiting member sold work, a few smaller items making their way to America, Germany , Australia!! Thanks to everyone who came along and contributed to the success.

I honestly never knew😱

These little mites can cause an almighty pain if stood on and I have witnessed a few in it is bad enough in an adult but a child it’s horrendous 😢 hot water as hot as you can thole will help solidify the sting relieving the pain somewhat.

Thinking of heading to over the summer? Some information on Weeverfish to keep in mind.

The WEEVERFISH is found in all parts of the coast but only in sandy areas, usually in warm shallow waters in the hour before and after low tide. Unlike most fish, they have no swim bladder, meaning that they sink to the bottom as soon as the stop swimming. They are, therefore, difficult to see because they spend most of their time buried under the sand. The have sharp spines containing venom on their dorsal fin.

WHAT TO EXPECT
🟢 Standing on a Weeverfish results in immediate intense, burning pain.
🟢The pain is most intense in the first 2 hours and can result in swelling, numbness and warmth.

WHAT TO DO
✅ Seek assistance from a lifeguard, if available.
✅ Submerge the affected limb or wound in hot water, as hot as can be tolerated for up to 90 minutes or until pain is easing.
✅ As the sting can result in numbness, immerse the unaffected limb too, as this may prevent inadvertent scalding.
✅ Cold applications may worsen the discomfort.
✅ Paracetamol can be considered to relieve pain. Care should be taken when pain relief is given that thermal burns do not occur due to the effects of the pain killer masking the temperature of the water used.
✅ The puncture site should be examined and embedded spines removed.
✅ Seek medical attention from a doctor as a tetanus and/or antibiotics may be required.

I hope you can see this....WHAT is happening to our politicians ATM?!!! This shouldn't be allowed to happen , not in NZ, not here, not Albania, not anywhere😡😡

It's that time again! The annual artisan craft fayre, keep the dates to hand, it was busy last year!! Delighted to be participating once again , some new faces attending this year too:) Hoping for bonny days, so you can have a look in past the hall, and finish up with a cuppie at the Coastal Cuppie down at the harbour in Pennan . Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Someone was asking me this week if I had my 2027 calendars, YES! They were sent to print in February this year , will be bringing some of these along too:)
