What a night! We were thrilled to finally share the Cotswolds: Field & Folk film at its premiere screening in Malmesbury on Friday evening. With live music from .mack, delicious food provided by @cotswoldtravellingkitchen, and a fantastic venue at , we couldn't have asked for a better evening. The team have worked tirelessly to bring the film to life, and the people featured in it are each brilliant, and engaging, and determined. They're an inspiration. It's been a joy to be involved up to this point, and we look forward to seeing the film tour across the summer to help champion the importance of the Cotswolds National Landscape as a protected landscape in its 60th year. Please do look out for screenings near you, and join us on the 15th August in Cheltenham for our big 6-0 party! More info on screening dates here: https://www.cotswoldsfilm.co.uk/screening-tour

What a weekend!

Time to recoup - emails off for 48 hours before we really kick off the tour next week.

It’s been a huge few days, and there’s a strange mix of exhaustion and excitement right now as everything starts to move from preparation into action.

After so long working towards this point, it’s hard to believe Field & Folk is finally out in the world and beginning its journey properly.

A short pause… then we go again.

Today is the day. 🎬

Field & Folk is finally out in the world.

After months (and in truth, years) of filming, editing, travelling, and shaping this story, it feels slightly surreal to say it’s here. This has been one of the most rewarding, challenging and transformative projects I’ve ever worked on, and now it’s time to let it go and see where it lands.

To everyone who has supported the film, shared their stories, opened their gates, or helped bring it to life behind the scenes—thank you. It truly wouldn’t exist without you.

And to the Leaping Fox crew, Cotswolds National Landscape, the farmers, the families, and everyone who believed in the idea from the start - this one’s for you.

Let’s get the show on the road.

Just a few days to go now. 🎬

It’s strange seeing something you’ve lived with for so long almost ready to leave your hands.

Scenes, voices, and places that have been part of my life for the last couple of years are now about to be shared more widely than ever before.
There’s a quiet anticipation in that.

Not long now until Field & Folk begins its journey out into the world.

A huge thank you to the Leaping Fox crew. 🎬

Ben, Joe and Callum, this film simply wouldn’t be what it is without them.
From early ideas through to the final cut, their reassurance, creativity and technical skill have shaped Field & Folk in ways that are hard to fully put into words. Every step of the process has been stronger because of their input and support.

Filmmaking, at its best, is always collaborative and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have a team around me who care as deeply about the work as I do.

The final film is a fraction of what it could have been without them… and I mean that in the best possible way.

Grateful for the crew, the process, and everything we’ve built together.

Good to get back out among the fields after the heatwave. The weather’s cooled slightly and everything feels different again. The wheat and barley are turning faster than I’ve ever seen — that shift from green to gold happening almost overnight.

One week to go until Cotswolds: Field & Folk is released into the world.
Nervous. Excited. Relieved. All of it at once.

After such a long journey making this film, it’s hard to believe we’re now just days away from kicking off the tour and sharing it properly with audiences.
This production has been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve ever worked on. It’s taken time, energy, patience, and a lot of learning along the way, but it’s also given me so much in return.

New connections, new perspectives, and a much deeper understanding of the people and places that shape the Cotswolds.

Now it’s almost time to let it go and see how it lands in the world.
One week.

There’s something quietly special about seeing sheep grazing the open fells of the Lake District.

It’s easy to take it for granted, but those animals play a huge role in shaping this landscape.

Grazing helps support biodiversity in its own way, maintaining grasslands that many upland species depend on, while also keeping alive traditional farming systems that are deeply woven into rural life here.

Pheasants are undeniably stunning birds.

Their colours, patterns and sheer presence in the landscape make them one of the more striking sights you’ll come across in the countryside.

But they also sit in a complicated place within our ecosystems.
The common pheasant is not native to the UK, having been introduced from Asia centuries ago, and large-scale releasing for shooting means their numbers in some areas are far higher than they would naturally be.

That’s led to ongoing discussion around their impact on ground-nesting birds, habitats, and wider biodiversity - something that continues to be studied and debated.

It’s a reminder that not everything we see in the countryside fits neatly into “good” or “bad”. Often it’s more complex than that.

Beautiful birds. Complicated story.

Not long now until Cotswolds: Field & Folk is released! 🎬🌿

This film has been a genuine game changer for me.
What started as a documentary project has ended up shaping an entirely new career path, introducing me to incredible people, and teaching me so much about the lives, challenges and passion of those who work the land.

Over the last two years I've travelled across the Cotswolds, listened to countless stories, and gained a whole new appreciation for the people who help shape the landscape we all know and love.
It's been one of the most challenging, rewarding and eye-opening experiences of my life.
The countdown is well and truly on now, and I can't wait to finally share it with you all.
See you at the screenings
