One of the images from my latest video, just released to Patreon and YouTube members today. Certainly not my usual type of image but sometimes you have to grab them when you can. This was taken on route to a new location in the Yorkshire Dales were I spent the rest of a very wet day, but still came away with some lovely new scenes.

I do love more general landscape photography and often think I should do more of it.

You can join my Patreon community and see this in much higher resolution than facebook provides (There is a free option but do you see fewer posts).

Ferns have fascinated me for as long as I can remember. From a distance they seem almost ordinary, until you take a close look. This image featured on one of my most recent YouTube videos: https://youtu.be/8LI6jS-2_ds?si=XDTwHR9qPFnEHDgI

There are photographs that shout for attention, and others that simply ask you to spend a little time with them.

Cuckoo flower (lady's smock) photographed a couple of years ago. Common in damp grasslands it provides an important food source for orange-tip butterfly caterpillars. Look out for the adult butterflies, they should be out by now.

This may be a first for me as I don't ever recall posting a black and white image on here. Over the years, a few people have asked have I ever considered a black and white conversion on some of my images and I have always replied no. Well today is a new day and I thought I would try one. I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to processing these so do let me know what you think in terms of a/ whether I should do more and b/ what you think of this conversion. Naturally I have put a nice big mount around it because that's what fine arty type folk do don't they :-)

I never take a camera on workshops unless requested to do so. However, there are times when I really do wish Id taken one and my last workshop was one of those days. Phone snap 🥹
