It’s been afew years since I just posted images that I have taken out and about or ar home with my camera as opposed to examples of my work whilst actually “working “. Our youngest child is now 3 and finally will walk on a dog walks as opposed to being carried or pushed - freeing up my hands for my beloved canon. I had forgotten how much I love just pottering about with my camera without the pressure of capturing that shot.

These were taken afew days ago at home, as many of you will know Harvest this year hasnt been great, the exceptionally dry summer we are having has affected the quality & most farmers have struggled with poor yields and not much straw and many ( including us ) are now supplementary feeding stock in the fields as the grass is dead! We had a very dry summer in 2022 but I’ve never known a Harvest and Haymaking Season to be finished so early ……just the Spring Barley to finish - what will Farmers do in August ? 🙈.

So, that’s a very long way of saying, I’m going to start a new series. Abit like my photo of the day, but lll call it “out with my camera” stay tuned for more images & Hoping you all have a fantastic rest of Summer ☀️📸

Abit of a different post from me.

I was meant to post this on Saturday to mark the 82nd anniversary of the D Day Landings, but I’m 48 hours late. Here are a selection of some of my images that I took last week on a family trip to Normandy.

The Normandy British memorial was incredibly poignant with the .with.giants silhouettes, that are back up & in situe until September. There are 1476 of them & they represent all the British soldiers that lost their lives on 6.6.44, the shear scale and size of them takes your breath away & they are intertwined with a stunning mix of red white & blue wildflowers, with poppies at every turn.

My highlight however was meeting Madame Arlette Gondree; the owner of The Pegasus Bridge cafe. She was 4 at the time of liberation, she chatted to the children, asked us about our farming lives & had a photo with them both.

They soaked it all in, asked alot of questions and I hope that they will remember this trip for the rest of their lives. I know I will. L ❤️

Looking forward to photographing the annual lunch on Friday. Always a great date in my diary for a very worthy cause. The incredible team that organise it make a huge amount of money to support the hospice which is a vital service in our community. Proud to be a small part of it. Here are some photos that I took as last years lunch ! ⭐

Recently I took some photos at Bramley Lodge, a delightful rural retreat set in the heart of an orchard in the Sussex Weald overlooking the South Downs.
