She said yes!

Tonights surprise proposal at Wentbridge House. Reece dropped to one knee to pop the question to Kirsty, of course she said yes.

The second proposal in two days, yesterday I was in York as Charles proposed to Megan by the Minster.

If you're looking to propose or dropping hints to your other half that they need to, take a look at the proposal packages on my website.

Congratulations Reece & Kirsty and Charles & Megan.

"Oh and Netflix are going to be filming the wedding" A passing comment during the pre-wedding planning chat with Faith recently. Little did either of us know that would involve a 25 person crew with 6 cameras, drone pilot, sound technicians, director, runners and much much more

It was fun but possibly the most challenging wedding I've shot for many years, coordinating with so many people whilst still getting the couple their images. Occasionally I just had to take a behind the scenes image to show how surreal it was. Here Faith opens a gift from her parents closely watch by two cameras, Out of shot a third is next to me catching faiths reaction me and a big sound boom is just overhead!

Soon be able to say as seen on Netflix and I'll never grumble about videographers getting in the way again - well atleast not for a few weeks.

Mind blown!

I entered the Guild of Photographers monthly image competition again the last set of results were two Golds and a Silver, Ive only entered two months this year and have now picked up four Golds, more than any other year combined.

The three images below from weddings in Yorkshire and Cumbria including Hazlewood Castle and Carlton Towers

Anyone care to be a judge and guess which scored silver and which gold?

BUMPER AWARDS MONTH - TWO GOLDS AND A SILVER! A welcome return to entering competitions and my best ever scores in the weddings category

Award winning photos from the Guild of Photographers. Over the moon last week to receive two Golds and a Silver for the images below. The bridal portrait of Emily Hazlewood Castle not only scored Gold but won image of the month too. A pair of Allerton Castle images with the silhouette with a stunning sunset scoring a Silver and the photo of Lizhui and Callum on the staircase scoring Gold.

I've not entered for a coupe of years and did this on impulse but now thinking about which photos to enter for August.

Massive thank you to all my couples, going along with ideas, embracing the weather and putting their trust in myself to create these types of images.

Thanks, Chris

Gnarly stick or painterly flowers?

Hello, it's been a while since I last posted, you know when you promise yourself you'll get around to it, well finally I'm posting! It's been a busy year so far with 25 weddings photographed so far and a busy couple of months ahead as we roll into late July and August weddings.

Today was spent running a workshop teaching wildlife photography, not too far from home photographing Kingfishers.

I'm liking the bird in its natural habitat look to the bulrush and flowers but also like the gnarly stick!Which do you prefer?

Back tomorrow with a new group so will be foraging for sticks again in the morning!

Lizhi and Callum's wedding at Allerton Castle last week, how amazing does Lizhi's traditional red wedding dress look against Allerton as a backdrop? - and of course the Bridesmaids oriental inspired dresses in the drawing room group photo.

I'm torn between my photo on the staircase and the one taken during the ceremony by second shooter Lukas for my favourite.
