And now for something completely different... (in the immortal words of Monty Python!) 🎸

A little while ago, I was very fortunate to be invited to photograph one of the beautiful creations by Blacknut Guitars.

The craftsmanship, attention to detail and quality of this guitar were outstanding. It was a real pleasure to photograph something so beautifully made, and a great opportunity to experiment with a different style of photography.

If you haven't already, I'd definitely recommend checking out and seeing their incredible work for yourself.

Hi, it’s been a while 👋

Recently I’ve been rediscovering my passion for animal photography and spending more time behind the camera capturing the character and beauty of different species.

This striking owl was photographed at Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, an incredible subject with such captivating detail and presence.

Shelter From the Storm 🌧️

I captured this in Topsham last year, during a time when my dad had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Bob Dylan was his all-time favourite musician, so naming it after his song felt instinctive.

Churches are often shelters in moments of turmoil, and that’s how I saw it then. The dark edit reflects that period for me, the clouds almost resembling smoke, heavy and unsettled.

It’s not a perfect piece of art, but it carries meaning. And I believe art has to speak to the artist… otherwise, why bother? 💜

Practice makes joy 🐦✨

This was a practice shot of a gorgeous robin.

Robins are one of my absolute favourite birds, and I got so much joy from trying to capture this little one. I even got a tiny song out of it while I was shooting, proper moment I won’t forget.

Sometimes it’s not about perfection, just being present with nature and enjoying the process ❤️

Captured during a museum visit last year, this Pears Soap statue is full of character. The fine detail in the boy’s expression as he’s scrubbed clean is what really drew me in, playful, nostalgic, and beautifully crafted. 😍
