New spot!!! Visiting Mull gave me an incredible opportunity to see white-tailed eagles for the first time and it was an amazing experience to see these birds!

⭐️ White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla)
⭐️ Part of the Kites, Hawks and Eagles Family
⭐️ They’re Red on the UK conservation status, having actually gone extinct in the UK in the 20th century
⭐️ There are only 150 breeding pairs in the UK
⭐️ They are the UK’s largest grid of prey with a wingspan of 200-240cm and weighing between 3.5-5kg (males) and 4-7kg (females)

I am back!! After a couple of months of deadlines and work I’ve finally had time to pick up the camera again! I hope everyone’s doing well in this ever changing climate and there’ll be more photos to come from me soon!

⭐️ Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis)
⭐️ My favourite fact about these birds is that the recognisable blue stripe they have isn’t actually blue.. it’s brown!
⭐️ They are amber on the UK conservation status
⭐️ In the UK there are between 3,800 and 6,400 breeding pairs
⭐️ These gorgeous birds weigh just 36-46 grams - around the same as a golf ball!

It’s finally Saturday! New bird for me, I’ve never taken a photo of one before.. it’s not my best shot but it was lovely to see!

⭐️ They are Green on the UK Conservation Status and are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981
⭐️ They weigh just 8-12 grams, which is the same as a £2 coin!
⭐️ They can be seen all year round in the UK

Happy Monday Everyone! This was the closest I’ve ever been to a kestrel in the wild and I felt so lucky that he chose to perch so close to where we were stood!

⭐️ They weigh between 156-252 grams, which is as little as a cricket ball!
⭐️ There are 46,000 breeding pairs in the UK
⭐️One of my favourite facts about kestrels is that they can detect UV light and use this to hunt their prey. Voles and Mice leave trails of urine when they move and this emits UV light ... this gives kestrels a glowing path straight to their dinner!

I post so many robins but they’re such gorgeous little birds! ⭐️ Robin (Erithacus rubecula)
⭐️ Male and Female robins are identical and the young can be recognised as having brown spots instead of the red breast
⭐️ They’re protected by The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981
⭐️ They’re green on the UK conservation status
⭐️ They weigh just 14-21 grams - around the same as two 50p coins
