Woke up this morning wishing I was back at Ard Rock.

What a weekend. Great trails, great people and an atmosphere that’s hard to beat.

Always a pleasure wandering around with the camera. I didn’t get as far as I’d have liked with little ones in tow but, enjoyed capturing some action and snaps of everything else that makes the event so enjoyable.

Roll on next year.

Everyone has a place that feels like home, even if they don’t live there.

This is mine.

Swaledale, in all its ever-changing light.

I feel this place in my bones.

ARD ROCK never disappoints. 🤘

A brilliant weekend in Swaledale capturing the speed, commitment and atmosphere that makes this event so special.

Heckler’s Wood was undoubtedly one of the highlights, riders threading the trees at full gas, the crowd created an atmosphere unlike anywhere else on the course. Loud, relentless and impossible not to smile behind the camera.

Thanks to everyone who made it another unforgettable weekend. Here’s a few from the trails.

Lovely, lovely, lovely, Lakes.

The Lake District, Cumbria.

In my opinion, one of the most dramatic parts of England.

A place of heavy skies, deep greens and shifting light.

It’s a landscape that seem to change every few minutes. The weather doesn’t tend to spoil the view it just becomes the view. (Until you’re clouded out)

I’ve always loved how the Lakes can feel both vast and intimate at the same time. Big hills and brooding clouds one moment, then tiny details in the woodland and wildflowers the next.

A few frames from a wander alongside the fells, woods and water.

The incredibly talented Adam Clark from Clark Photographic gave up his weekend to join us at the Festival of Football and captured the event beautifully...

The photographs he took are now available to see on his blog (link in comments ⬇️) if you want to take a look!

Adam has kindly said that if you like a picture he will send out the full size files to you, in return for a £10 donation to Team Evie 💚 - You can contact him through his website contact section.

𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 - The photographs that are available are all loaded in the two event pages on Adam's blog. Please do not inundate him with messages asking for more photos, or 'do you have any of my child? my team?' etc - as the aim of him being there wasn't to capture a perfect image of everyone involved, but to capture the essence of the event, which he has done perfectly!

Last weekend I had the privilege of photographing Festival of Football for the second year running.

It’s a brilliant grassroots football weekend, full of energy, teamwork, families, volunteers, coaches and young players giving everything on the pitch.

But it is also much more than football.

Team Evie was founded by my friends Greg and Jill in memory of their daughter, Evie. Sitting at the side of the pitches, looking across the event, I had a quiet moment of realisation: none of this happens without Evie.

Her legacy is enormous.

The football, the fundraising, the community, the support for families, the work Team Evie continues to do, all of it carries her name forward in such a powerful way.

I’ve written a short blog about documenting the weekend and what it meant to be there with a camera.

Down at the river in West Tanfield.

What I appreciated most on this walk was the stillness, the quiet movement of the water, the weight of the trees, the spaces between things.

There were textures everywhere: long grass in the fields, leaves under soft light, bark, stone, reflections, the dark surface of the river. And within that stillness, small signs of life kept appearing, birds lifting from the water, flowers in the woodland, a fly line moving through the air.

A slow walk, full of quiet detail.

What a privilege to stay last weekend for a wonderful family celebration.

North Farm has that quiet, lived-in beauty, stone walls, soft light, layered rooms and detail that feels collected rather than styled.

Designed and owned by it carries her signature warmth: comfortable, characterful interiors that mix colour, pattern, antiques and everyday practicality in a way that feels effortless.

Nothing too polished, nothing too forced. Just soulful, rooms.

The kind of house that invites you to slow down and notice more.

The moon, quietly suspended in the dark, has a way of making everything feel still.

A small glow in a vast sky, it reminds us to pause, look up, and take in the beauty that’s always there.

Calm, constant, and quietly extraordinary.
