These unusual guests have been keeping me company over the last couple of days.
The portraits needed to be photographed to make prints but their most recent renovation meant that they were firmly glued into their frames. Photographing anything behind glass can be very tricky and it’s been a fun challenge to work out the best angles and lighting to avoid reflections.

Wrap-up post - Jacqui & Miles 25th July 2026

What a beautiful wedding this was. The choice of venue was perfect for a vintage feel and there were so many homemade details and personal touches.

The horses and cart were an unplanned detail and huge thanks to Horse Drawn Occasions for transporting our bride in style (they were on site for a different event and kindly gave up their time).

We were spoiled for choice when it came to backgrounds for couple photos at this amazing venue, if you are local and haven't visited - please do! Thanks so much to the event team for looking after everyone on such a hot day.

Sneak peek - Sylvia & Richard's 50th Wedding Anniversary party 25th July 2026

It's not often I have more than 1 booking in a day but yesterday I had the pleasure of moving from working with the newly married Jacqui & Miles to spending the evening with Sylvia and Richard to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Sylvia and Richard were joined by their truly international mix of family and friends and even a surprise performance by a Mariachi band.

Many congratulations to them both on their landmark celebration and a big thanks, as always, to everyone at Thame Barns Centre for looking after everyone so well.

A beautiful day for a beautiful wedding in such an amazing venue.

Jacqui & Miles are the most friendly and welcoming couple you could ever hope to meet and I really enjoyed celebrating with them and their family and friends.

From the bride arriving by horse and carriage to photos taken in front of a variety of historic buildings, this was a truly unique wedding.

Huge congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Davenport.

It's a beautiful day for a wedding 😍
Later this morning, I'll be joining Jacqui & Miles at Chiltern Open Air Museum. It's going to a fun celebration with lots of handmade details and a vintage feel.
On a personal note, this will be the 40th wedding that I've photographed - wow!

On Friday, I paid a quick visit to Chiltern Open Air Museum ahead of Jacqui & Miles' wedding later this month. This is a fascinating venue with so many familiar buildings from TV and film.

I didn't take many photos as there were lots of school children around but below you can see Northolt Barn - where Jacqui & Miles will hold their ceremony - and the red chapel which was used in several episodes of the iconic Horrible Histories.

A big thanks to Jo and the team for sparing their time on such a busy day.
