January kicked off the year with a wonderfully eclectic mix of photography work โ€“ from railways and heritage projects to commercial commissions, head shots, Musicals and special assignments โ€“ and itโ€™s been a real reminder of just how varied and exciting my work can be.

With February already shaping up to be just as busy (and with some brilliant projects on the horizon), now is the perfect time to get dates in the diary.

If youโ€™re looking for professional photography or videography for:
๐Ÿš‚ Railways, heritage lines & events
๐Ÿข Corporate, brand & marketing campaigns
๐Ÿ‘‘ High-profile, editorial or behind-the-scenes commissions
๐ŸŽ‰ Special events, launches or bespoke projects

โ€ฆIโ€™d love to hear from you. The diary is filling quickly, but Iโ€™m always happy to discuss ideas and see how we can create something unique for you!

A poignant sight at Gloucester Horton Road today, with the last surviving locomotive shed now partially demolished. The demolition team expect the remainder to be gone within the next day.

To give some context to whatโ€™s being lost, the black-and-white photograph shows the site as it appeared in the steam era in 1961, captured by Mike Peart.

I am incredibly proud to say that I have been commissioned to photograph the Royal Train, documenting it in photographs through to the conclusion of the operation in 2027. It is a true honour to be entrusted with recording such an important chapter in British history. The images I have already captured - and those still to come - form a rare and exclusive visual record during its final years of service.

Here are a selection of photographs approved by the Palace from the recent working to Totnes in Devon. The images include His Majesty The King alighting from the train, followed by the Royal Train on the South Devon Railway. Among the moments captured was an early visit to a local corner shop to collect the morning newspapers, which were then delivered to the train on a section of line last visited by a Royal Train in December 1962, a small but poignant connection with history.

STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT: Iโ€™m proud to share that on Monday this week, Alice Chesterton officially started working with me as my Personal Assistant.

As the business continues to grow and diversify, having the right people around me is incredibly important. Alice will be helping behind the scenes with organisation, administration and day-to-day support, allowing me to focus more time on creative work, projects and clients.

Iโ€™m delighted to welcome Alice to the team and Iโ€™m really looking forward to working together on what is shaping up to be an exciting period ahead.

Alice joins the wonderful team with Ellie (accounts), Kevin (freelance photographer) and Lee (freelance film maker).

Yesterday I organised my third photographic charter on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, this time with GWR Castle Class No. 4079 Pendennis Castle. The weather was superb all day and the photographers who booked the day had a wonderful time capturing this magnificent machine in the Cotswold countryside.

Here are some of my favourites from the day!
Many thanks to Andy Jeanes who took the first photo of me in front of the loco at Winchcombe.

Iโ€™ve waited 25 years for the conditions to be right for this hillside photograph at Gotherington on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, and this evening it finally came together. 6880 Betton Grange is captured at the foot of Cleeve Hill, bathed in golden light.
