Is summer over? It’s feeling a little autumnal over here… I know, I know… “Don’t wish summer away!” I hear you.
But after working through unbearably hot heatwaves, parched grounds, sweaty wedding outfits and the constant battle to stop my camera hand from sticking to my camera… I’m quite happy to see autumn creeping in.

Give me golden light, crisp air, cosy evenings and all those gorgeous autumn colours.

There’s something about an autumn wedding that just feels a little bit magical; The richer colours, the softer light, the snuggly layers, the excuse for blankets and candles… and nobody looking quite so traumatised by the temperature during group photos.

So, dare I say it…
Bring on the drizzle. ☔
Bring on the darker nights. 🌙
Bring on the cosy. 🧡
(Although perhaps we could hold off on the horizontal rain until after wedding season?)

You’ve got to hand it to anyone planning a wedding right now.

It wasn’t all that long ago that inspiration came from friends, family, bridal magazines and maybe a trip to the dress shop. Now? Open any social media app and you’re met with an endless stream of people telling you how to plan, spend, style and perform your wedding.

And honestly, I think we are exhausted by it; when I talk to couples face-to-face, I’m hearing that they too are tired of the pressure to have the perfect wedding. They want something that feels like them.

So if you’re planning your wedding, here’s my advice:

Stick to your guns. Suit yourselves. Ignore the noise.

Spend less time worrying about how your wedding will look and more time thinking about how you want it to feel.

Because long after the Instagram posts have disappeared into the scroll, the photographs you’ll treasure most probably won’t be the performative ones. They’ll be the honest ones. The photographs that remind you not what your wedding looked like, but what it felt like to be there.

How much wedding photography coverage do you actually need? 🤍

This is one of the questions couples ask me most often, and the answer is… it depends on the story you want to tell.

The most popular choice with my couples is my 9 hour wedding photography collection — and there’s a reason it works so well.

For many weddings, 11.30am–8.30pm gives the perfect balance. It means I can be there for:

✨ The excitement (and nerves!) of getting ready
✨ Those little moments with your favourite people before the ceremony
✨ Your walk down the aisle and the emotions that follow
✨ The hugs, laughter and conversations that happen naturally during your drinks reception
✨ Your first dance and the beginning of the evening celebrations

It’s enough time to capture the story of your day without feeling like your photographer is taking over. There’s no “right” amount of coverage. Your wedding is unique, and your photography should reflect that.

My advice? Think about the moments you’d be sad to miss looking back in 20 years’ time. Those are the moments worth preserving. 🤍

Hello, again.

Realising that it’s been a while since I posted to any of my socials beyond stories so here we are. There’s no big reason behind it other than life. Shooting, editing, sleeping, repeating. Add into the mix being a wife, mom, and primary school TA and before you know it, it’s a month without posting anything. Also, this year I’ve had more couples than ever request for complete privacy of their images so I’m not rushing to my socials to share my latest work.
